NEAL C . LAURON DISPATCH Troy Smith (10) and Ted Ginn Jr. (7) would like to be teammates with the Cleveland Browns.
If they had their say, Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr. would trade in their Ohio State uniforms for those of the Cleveland Browns.
"I think everybody in this city knows who I would love to play for," Smith said at recent a media gathering in Cleveland.
Ted Ginn Sr. said, "That?s where we want to go, that would be a dream come true for Ted (Jr.). It?s all he ever talks about."
Smith and Ginn Jr. grew up in Cleveland and starred for Glenville High School.
The two are in Indianapolis this week at the NFL scouting combine in hopes of improving their draft position. The chances of the Browns drafting both players in April are remote. But that hasn?t stopped them from holding onto the dream of staying together and playing for the Browns.

Man, I must admit I was hoping Tampa would win the toss. I think Tampa would like Johnson if possible. I am not sure the Browns need a WR over RB, QB, OL, DL, etc.

I think the Browns and TB both have good opportunities in the draft. I can't see Ginn getting to the Browns or TB but you never know with Troy Smith. I would love to see him end up at either place.

Brady Quinn talking on NFLN at the combine...

He basically said he wants to go to Cleveland because we have the 3rd pick and he thinks "it would be good financially" for him. Great class.

Later he was asked what he'd tell a GM if they wanted to know why he thought he was worth a top-3 pick. He said that he's the most NFL-ready player in the draft, he's the best leader in the draft, and his work at Notre Dame stands for itself. Somehow, from his work at Notre Dame, I don't draw either of those conclusions.

I think it's official, whatever opinion I've had of him has plummetted. Other comments like, about the Sugar Bowl, "We played horrible in the 2nd half. It wasn't just me, it was the whole team." Way to rat out everyone on your team.

It's also official now, he's skipping all the drills at the combine.

Now that we have this out of the way......

I can't say I'm displeased with Quinn both throwing his ex-team under the bus for the Sugar Bowl and for the fact that he's skipping the skills portion of the combine. Considering that he's already been sinking on some mock draft boards, I seriously hope that Phil Savage crosses him off the list permanently.

I was never on his bandwagon in the first place... but I just thought that interview confirmed that he is an arrogant prissy dick.
I was mildly shocked... my estimation of his character shot up after the Heisman... but that interview killed it.
The last thing we need is him and Braylon on the same team. (Wait for King to claim they'd be a great pass-catch team.)

when leinart and quinn are franchise signal callers 3-4 years from now you'll know who to pat on the back:)
Quinn might work out well for a team that can protect him... putting him on the Browns would be a disaster for the short term, especially 07. Given the track record of Winslow & Edwards, will they be around in a few years when Cleveland finally has enough protection for Quinn to succeed?

Seeing as you didn't make a single post on this site until Leinart's first year was over (and showed excellent promise), I wouldn't hold your breath for credit there :roll2:
