Official 2006 NCAA Tournament Discussion Thread

Looks like we are one step closer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The upsets just keep coming.

We are now in a dog fight with Zaga and GW(w/o their best player), and both play in sorry ass conferences compared to the Big Ten. We win the big ten tourney and I think we get the number one seed.

just that you think 1 loss knocks people from their ranks. i dunno....it's up to the tourny selection committee now. other teams are making it hard to ignore OSU though.

you are right about that. one loss in football is devastating. one loss in basketball can mean nothing. by the times the polls come up next Monday no one will remember that Duke lost Wednesday, especially if they beat NC Saturday night.

the Memphis loss may stick a little more ... we can only hope.

the NCAA committee does like to mention "body of work" - so one loss doesn't always spell doom. one late loss and a bad conference tourney though can hurt you. especially if you play in a mid-major anyway.

There's a lot basketball left to play but I think our chances of getting a one seed playing in the top RPI conference are better. We have one more loss than Memphis, I would think a better RPI after this game, and at the least a very comparable body of work. We played a weak non conference schedule, a strong conference schedule while Memphis played the opposite. I think we're at least in the converastion about getting the last one seed after tonight.

Memphis plays in a really weak conference. Losing that game hurts. I really think it makes them a 2 seed as of now. I think we now hold our own destiny in our hands. Win the Big 10 tournament, and we will be playing in Dayton as a #1 seed.

WE WILL BE A #1 SEED!!!

:)
