Official 2006 NCAA Tournament Discussion Thread

I think it has been a horribly officiated game on both sides thus far.

Know what im tired of seeing and its bullshit? Whenever a player tries to get a jump ball, you know a tie up. The player could rape him in the ass and as long as he kind of grabs the ball, its a jump ball.

Well Duke loses.

The officiating through out this entire tournament has been disgusting. Duke just grabbed a players jersey to stop a breakaway dunk that would pretty much end the game, but they didnt even call it...

Its so inconsistent. It seems like after almost every game I think "wow, this was one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen..." Horribly inconsistent. Players step on endlines and they dont call him out, players dont step on the endlines and they do call him out...

Then there is the whole jump ball thing. It doesnt matter if the player grabs or rapes the other player, as long as he partially has the ball, its not a foul...

duke was exposed just as i thought they would be. they put a good guy on reddick and what did reddick do? nothing. his only shots came off of wide open looks. what happened when reddick went inside? he got absolutely demolished. williams kept them in the game but that was only because thomas and davis were in foul trouble for almost the whole game. you take away LSU's horrific free throw shooting and disgusting ball handling and this wouldnt even be a game but im happy to see duke out of it now.

Exactly. Reddick was fouled a lot this game, but only ended up with two foul shots because they never called anything.

I think that since all year there has been news about Duke getting alot of calls, that the officials are now hesitant to call a fair game.

:tibor:

The pathetic whining about the officiating has been hilarious to read.

yeah, obviously if Reddick didn't get to the line, it must have been b/c of bad officiating. That kind of ignorant logic was used when it was "obvious" that Illinois was shafted b/c they never got to the line.
