Official 2006 NCAA Tournament Discussion Thread

I think its a little early to worry about anything, lets win our opening game and then worry about the next opponent.

As far as Georgetown, if they are big, then we simply go small and shoot the three, exactly what we like to do. Strange things happen in the NCAA's.....

Bilas thinks Davidson will give us a game. Everybody seems to be picking Georgetown to win in the 2nd round.

That's quite alright then... the Bucks seem to play better as the underdog.

I think we are in one of the tougher 'pods'. Here's a snippet from Davidson's website regarding the selection:

The Davidson Wildcats men's basketball team, winners of the Southern Conference's automatic bid by virtue of winning the league tournament, was named a 15 seed by the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Committee and will play Ohio State on Friday, March 17 in Dayton, Ohio. These two teams played each other in the first round last time Davidson played in the NCAA Tournament in 2002.

More than 400 students and fans gathered with the team in the C. Shaw Smith 900 Room of the Alvarez Student Union to discover what seed the NCAA assigned to the Wildcats. The drama took nearly the entire hour-long show on CBS as Davidson was one of the alst team unveiled in the bracket.

This is the eighth trip to the NCAA Tournament for Davidson, and third under head coach Bob McKillop. When the 'Cats played Ohio State four years ago in the first round as a 13 seed, they nearly pulled off the upset before falling by five points, 69-64.

Hopefully we will win by more than 5 this time!
