Official 2006 NCAA Tournament Discussion Thread

Look everyone, this thread is available to discuss ANYTHING related to the tournament, that being current match ups, potential future match ups, commentator idiocy, etc...

We'll have separate threads for each OSU game where we will limit the discussion to the current game at hand.

Until then, please over-analyze away :)

I hope Northern Iowa pisses in everyone's Cheerios.

maybe then you can stop pissing in everyone elses... your stance is well-noted.

can we be glad we're in nova's bracket (guard matchup, rather than dealing with Uconn's size)? Or is that off-limits too?
how about anything outside of the first round for other teams? Shouldn't we have to wait until after they win before discussing those games too?

this thread is for speculation. Our optimism and oversight has zero affect on the outcome of the game. We are irrelevant posters, having fun speculating about what might happen in the tourney.

The team has no business looking past davidson, from what the "experts" have said. Matta will make sure they don't.

Haha. I don't think my bracket looks too promising with no standout teams in my opinion. I have Memphis, Iowa, UNC, and us (which is kind of hope, as of right now). We are on the toughest side in my opinion. However, if we play smarter basketball, then we should be fine for awhile. I think that we'll win the first game against Davidson. However, if Georgetown wins against Northern Iowa, which I think they will, then they will poise a huge threat to us.

Does anyone think that the loss against Iowa may have actually been beneficial to us? I was afraid we'd go in with big egos. Now, that we lost a game, I think it's safe to say that Thad will show our guys where we had been exposed in the Big Ten Tournament, and have us prepared to play smart, quality basketball.

I think that it could be... makes us hungrier. ESPN just had us losing to Georgetown... in a series of picks that typically favored the higher seed (very uncreative picks IMO). We'll have even more to prove, which is how it was early in the season.

How long ago did Digger say we were final four material? Now we're losing to Georgetown in his predictions.

gotta be honest guys, OSU hasn't played a good game since MSU (I'm not counting purdue....Lawrence North could beat them).

let's hope the shooting wakes up in the tourny.

GTown is a tough 2nd round game, but Dials will destroy any big man they have on him. They are big, but they aren't that great. They (the big guys) definately can't match up with the OSU guards. Even Sylvester is too quick for them.

Georgetown is the definition of streaky...I hope we catch them on a down day (actually, I hope Northern Iowa catches them on a down day...they did beat Iowa).

Hey Chief, good luck in the NIT brother...looks like your first two games will be Vanderbilt and Michigan, and I can't stand either one, so burn 'em.
