Official 2006 BP Mock Draft Thread

No offense to 513 but there is absolutely zero chance of that pick happening

if they go with a defensive back, as you did, then they will be looking at offensive line with this pick, be it a gaurd or tackle. Dallas has one of/if not the worst line in the league and will adress it in the draft.

and no katt, Witten is a TE...Cambell was their blocking TE that was in the game to help their young tackles but they let him go

That's what you get for not getting involved and picking for the Cowboys .( I would guess they would be your favorite team but I might be mistaken) But then again it was probable better then them picking the OG they need, ie Davin Jospeh  Which I was worried might not get past Dallas.

actually I am without team....I am from Houston and Loved the Oilers but have never lived there while the texans have been around and I just can't seem to get into them. I live in Dallas now and as a result know much more than I should about them. I am thinking of adopting a team to root for this year. It will most likely be whomever drafts VY but that could change if it is the lions or ravens.

With the 19th pick in the second round, the Vikings select:

Brodie Croyle, QB, Alabama

We believe that we can address a defensive need in round three. While Croyle has some injury history, we like his leadership and competitiveness. And (off the record) Brad Johnson doesn't have much of a shelf life left.

Never said it was realistic, it's just what I would like to see.

After the Fabini acquisition, I don't think Parcells will take an OL in the first day unless McNeill falls to us in the 2nd round. I see either Gurode or, because of his size, Petitti moving to LG and Johnson becoming the fulltime center.

Okay, thanks. I know Witten is one of the best receiving tight ends out there and that's why I was wondering about the pick.

513 is correct in that they need another TE but they have much larger needs. That, and the fact that TE is just about the deepest possision in this draft says that they look elsewhere with their second pick. Most likely OL or DB (whichever they did not take in the 1st)

gotchya, well thats a horse of a different color, and would make quite a combo...you like fabini better than Klopenstien?

I have heard that there is a decent shot that they take McNeil in the first round....or one of the gaurds, OU kid or Latui, in the second.

I agree that it looks like Johnson is going to play center.

I got Heath Miller for Dallas in the BP Mock 2nd round last year. Couldn't they sign him? :tongue2:

Yeah. He's not as big or strong, but he has much better hands and his foot-work's better.

My ideal first two rounds would be them taking any combination of Sinorice Moss, Donte Whitner/Jason Allen, and Marcus McNeill. I wouldn't really mind McNeill in the 1st round, but safety is a much bigger need.

On a side note Marty is having a good laugh at the expense of his former team the Cleveland Browns. Seems like Phil Savage is not in control as it has been a horrible draft for them. Marty still loves the Browns and wishes them well but he wonders if Dwight Clark has snuck into the Browns warroom and is making decisions again.

...says the team that got rid of Drew Brees.

With the 20th pick in the second round, the Patriots select.....

Darnell Bing, USC, S

We need help in the secondary in the worst way. Rodney Harrison's coming off major knee surgery and his status for opening day is unclear. We need to upgrade the gaggle of castoffs and neophytes that are currently in the secondary. Bing provides us with the big-play ability we've been lacking.

We also wanted to stay with the USC flavor.

With the 53rd pick of the 2006 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select....

Abdul Hodge, ILB

AbdulHodge2.jpg

Hodge provides depth at LB, allowing Gregg Williams to move Lemar Marshall to OLB due to the departure of LaVar.

Washington felt they could land Roger McIntosh this late in the draft, but feel they got a solid pick anyway. Spencer Havner was also considered here.

Previous needs at WR/CB/OL were largely addressed via free agency.

----------------------------------

Daniel Snyder was foaming at the mouth after spending weeks watching Hester's highlight video. Snyder was detained, and a more reasonable pick was made.

Aww, come on, I'm hoping my Lions will use their previous "Wow, we should just take the best guy left, even if we don't have a need there." *cough*WRx3*cough* and pick up VY.
