Oden vs. Harangody (Split from Oden thread)

NDC,

How about this, you can have Harangody, we'll take Oden and each be happy with our players.

That way this ridiculous and embarrasing thread will make it off of the main page.

Sounds good, you have your guy for 2 months and ND will have Harangody for 3 years and 2 months.

All of this because of a simple comparison of 2 very good freshman.

No... all of this because of your complaint that the media isn't covering a domer as much as Oden, even though their numbers and impact don't compare at all.

what you don't understand is that greg's effect on the program extends well beyond the time that he'll be here, regardless of whether it's "2 months" or 4 years. luke will most certainly not have that effect on nd's program, nor will his effect be by any measure close. greg's true effect on the program can't be adequately measured by points, rebounds, and blocks.

You mean the Alabama team currently ranked 10th/9th? Or the Maryland team currently unranked/ranked 22nd?

Clearly, I feel a bit embarrassed because I don't have the SAT scores to understand Notre Dame time.

You see Alabama was ranked #5 on 13 December 1955. They also beat Seton Hall. Yep. Ranked #1 for almost all of January, 1955.

When you play against that kind of tradition, well it just counts more.

C'mon Chief, nobody takes early season rankings seriously and you couldn't possibly be stating your honest opinion! It would be very different if they were #5, took a drop after losing to ND, and then climbed back up the rankings. They didn't. Taht elevator was going down, so far down that your big scalp even lost to da U, for goodness sakes.

Notre Dame seems to have a pretty good team and your boy could be the real deal but my point is that he hasn't really faced the opposition that Oden has faced in a half season--and Oden has played with one hand tied behind his back.

Chief, the comparison is laughable, and you know it.
