Assuming if he stays course, the next step would be OC in a few years. I’m sure there will be calls in 2023 by a few schools for him for that role. Awesome for Hartline but I hope Day has a strategy (seems like he does).
I don’t know. It’s been documented more than once that Hartline has a unique set of circumstances that keep him happy in his current job.

OC is a new job. Passing game coordinator is just a new title for his current job so they can pay him more.

If Luke Fickell ever went elsewhere, it'd be interesting to me if he was offered the UC job, if he'd take it or prefer to be OC and potential HCIW.

The UC job post Fickle is interesting. It's P5 job but that conference is pretty dead without Texas and Oklahoma. Will it be anything bigger then the AAC in reality or will the name carry some weight cause of what it used to be?

Does he even want to be a HC?

Big 12 will essentially be a G5 when Oklahoma and Texas leave

2 Nov 2021 tweet:

Hartline said he "couldn't imagine" leaving the Buckeyes and Ohio State is "the pinnacle of the ladder."
