OC Arthur Smith (Official Thread)

lol. sadly, not this time. although I do contend his job is made infinitely easier by Jeremiah Smith.....and if, god forbid, he's still here next year we'll have a better idea of how much value he actually brings. If he does stick around another year without Mr. Smith, I'd like him to keep that direct snap on 4th and 1 back up his ass where it came from.
Art Smith's hire was head scratcher for me based on his style of coaching and experience in the pros

This is a perfect week to continue to shore up the D and work on a few things on Offense before we face Indy. Also a perfect week to put an end to Lockly's career at Maryland.

It’s kind of remarkable it hasn’t actually ended yet. I get they went be a perennial contender but considering the under armor bucks what they’re producing on the field is repulsive and is only rivaled by MSU this year

So he's calling the score with 30 seconds left plays? Interesting that he brought those with him, but he chose not to call them while with the Steelers.
What Smith didn't do at Pittsburg has absolutely nothing to do with what he IS doing at Ohio State. Putting players in the right position to win IS the job of a coach. Calling the right plays with the right schemes is part of that process.

Well that's an oversimplification. Obviously the play caller is calling the TD plays. He's also calling the plays that don't work. So what is he doing that specifically gives him credit for these TDs at the end of the half? Especially when we all know the phrase "win the middle 8" from before his time here.
