NW'ern +17.5 at Nebraska (ov/un 65.5) Sat 3:30 ET, BTN

I see Nebraska got its official 'Welcome to the Big Ten' party pack. A massive loss to Wiscy at Camp Randall under the lights, and a scrub lighting them up at home.

All that is left is for them to have a mediocre season and have Bo Pelini dubbed 'Coach of the Year' after failing to win the Big 10. In fact, I imagine he's in a prime position for the trophy at years end. The trophy will likely be filled with valuable coupons to Applebees in which he can take the team out with when they're watching the Big Ten CCG on TV.

It's games like this and our game against Michigan State that make you think college football is rigged. It's almost as if the Sparty coaches said, "Here, we're going to do the exact same five things on O and D, all game long, regardless of situation, and you go ahead and make us look stupid."

Then, being the congenial folks we are, we turn around the next week and do the same thing for NU. "Don't worry about anything complex, Wildcats - we'll just line up in the EXACT SAME ALIGNMENT all game long, and run the same three offensive plays and the same defense, no matter what you do. Oh, you like the veer to the left side of your formation, and want to run it 20 times this game? No problem. We shan't adjust. Oh, you want to run the slant into the soft center of our defense? No problem; we'll be in Cover 2 all game long, and won't bring our safeties up to stop this play. You're welcome."

I am as baffled about our failure to adjust this week, both offensively and defensively, as I was at Sparty's failure to adjust last week. It's like both teams were simply giving the game away. Bizarro-world.

I wouldn't laugh too hard recalling what happened when the Bucks visited Lincoln.

Thanks for reminding them, cinci. No doubt this game was a total embarrassment for Nebraska. But it appears that the gloating Tonyank & Menardo have very short memories! :wink2:

As soon as Rex and Quincy fumbled....I figured it was over. And that was in the first quarter.

Shades of ISU a couple years ago came back to my mind. So the wife, kids and I went and got some grub, I went searching for a kettle grill (to go along with the smoker).

Teams with offenses starring athletic QB times are Bo's Kryptonite. That, or at least this year, defensive tackles are.

Nah. It's just best to kick a conference foe while their down. It's the American way. Plus it was Northwestern, I still hate those fuckers for this:

For another example, see OSU's offensive game plan against MSU, Oct 1, 2011.
