Ah, using the old shortsighted view to skip a bow game and all the benefits such as extra practice time for next season, what’s most likely a trip to a decent location in the winter for the team and alums, and showing the CFP they may just be right in their decision to leave the petulant programs that is Notre shame out. The ND AD must have received some solid advice from the State Penn AD. That’ll show everyone!

Back in the day, it was a truly mythical national championship……the look test with some back room dealing to create a ranking. If a high ranked team lost, they fell behind the. Similar teams. Therefore whichever team lost last got unduly screwed. This kept Ohio STate out of several NCs because toughest game usually the last game vs Scum. I can think of several examples: 1969, 1986, 1998.

ND always had its toughest game in early November or earlier. They can cry me a river.

ND is some salty bitches. You think you're too good to play in a bowl other than CFP? Dream on. Miami should have been ranked ahead of ND at least after they had both beaten Pitt, with Miami having the bigger margin of victory. You know you can't rely on the CFP rankings until the final bracket is revealed. I disagree with quitting on the season from a competitive standpoint, but that being said, bowls may have to start kicking in some NIL so teams/players are more incentivized to play in lesser bowls.
