Annual game! Did this last year, doing it this year, and we can do it again next year. Game is called Let's See If All One Hundred And Nineteen Other I-A Schools Can Win A Bowl Before Notre Dame Does.

Notre Dame's last bowl win was the Cotton Bowl in 1993 (New Year's Day 1994) against Texas A&M. Since then, the following teams have won a bowl game and Notre Dame has not:

....Edit - see updated list below

That's 84 for those of you unwilling to bother counting all that. (Understandable.) 36 to go.

This year, the number can potentially reach 91 if Indiana, Ball State, Central Florida, Kentucky, New Mexico, Florida Atlantic, and Houston win their games.

Air Force, Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Boise State, Boston College, Bowling Green, BYU, California, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Clemson, Colorado, Colorado State, Connecticut, East Carolina, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Fresno State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Marshall, Maryland, Memphis, Miami, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, Navy, Nebraska, Nevada, NC State, North Carolina, North Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, San Jose State, South Carolina, South Florida, Southern Miss, Stanford, Syracuse, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Toledo, Troy, Tulane, Tulsa, UCLA, UNLV, USC, Utah, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Washington, Washington State, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Florida Atlantic makes it 85 teams that have won a bowl game since Ntre Ame last won one.

The 28% of teams that haven't won a bowl game since Notre Dame has. Looks like a couple can get their name off the list this year (Kentucky, Indiana).

Akron, Arkansas St, Army, Ball St, Baylor, Buffalo, Duke, East. Michigan, Florida Intl, Houston, Idaho, Indiana, Kent St, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, LA Lafayette, LA Monroe, Middle Tenn St, New Mexico St, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio, Rice, San Diego St, SMU, Temple, UAB, UCF, Utah St, UTEP, Vanderbilt, West Kentucky, West Michigan

I think it is wholly unfair to expect the other 28% of teams to be able to win a bowl game before Ntre ame. While the Irish "always play someone better" in their bowl games, they still make it to bowl games with their automatic Commanders Trophy and didn't lose to any HS teams clause. The other teams not only have to have a winning record, but since they are lower profile teams would probably have to win 8-9 games to get in.
You also hve the economic impact of having NoD at your bowl. All the restaurants in a 100 mile radius will have record sales thanks to CW.

Heh heh heh. Notre Dame finished tied with Army for last in the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy race, both of them having lost to both Navy and Air Force.

You listed them as a "top-dog" here. :roll1:

Historically speaking they have the predigree. They are always awarded as a top dog program but get handed their asses each year. The press still thinks people are wearing leather helmets or something. Based on reputation many would consider it a "storied" program which equals love in the polls...

I think Kentucky beat Clemson last year in the Bumblefuck Bowl, or maybe it was the Music City Bowl. Whichever one they're in this year.
