Historically speaking they have the predigree. They are always awarded as a top dog program but get handed their asses each year. The press still thinks people are wearing leather helmets or something. Based on reputation many would consider it a "storied" program which equals love in the polls...

They are indeed a "storied" program. As is Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, LSU, Alabama, etc. The key thing is that, right now, they suck ostrich balls...

Sarcasm on-
I hate to be an No D homer, but the Irish are much more deserving of the BCSNC game than either of the entrants (one who backed in and the other who using inhuman speed ran around the world so fast, they came in the back door)

Their record this year speaks for itself, they have a longer winning streak than either National Title contender, they beat Pac-10 power UCLA, who by the way, lest we forget, beat the team of the eon, USC last year. They also beat Stanford who beat this years version of the team of the eon (USC again, duh)

They beat a feisty Duke team, who if you combine Basketball and Football records are as impressive as just about any team in the country over the last 15-20 years, and have won multiple NCs in combined sports.

And most importantly, had they been able to score a mere 30 more points in either of their big rivalry games (scUM or USCum) they would have had another glory filled near-loss and CW would have gotten the credit he so richly deserves and been hired to a lifetime contract as Chancellor, AD and HC.

THIS IS WHY WE NEED A PLAYOFF, TO LAY RIGHT THIS INJUSTICE

I agree but I would not put LSU in the category of STORIED at this point. We are like new money and the rest are College football blue bloods...

They are on the verge of losing a recruit I think they desperately need...GA DT Omar Hunter, who by all accounts has been dominant along with DaQuan Bowers at the UA AA practices...

To Florida, just like last year with Justin Trattou, who followed the same pattern. Dominate AA practices, decommit to Florida.

My favorite part is the hypocrisy. ND threatens to pull schollies when commits want to look around, yet they constantly try to poach recruits (ie UM commit Mike Martin, also a DT).

Woman gets six months for theft of viola - Michael McIntyre's Tipoff

Monday, January 07, 2008Michael K. McIntyre
Plain Dealer Columnist
For a moment recently in Judge Timothy McGinty's courtroom, the churn of daily justice stopped abruptly as artist and musician Alice Seifullah massaged the sound of "Amazing Grace" from her beloved viola.

The instrument had been stolen from her car in her driveway and pawned in May. Seifullah, a Cleveland resident who owns a gallery in East Cleveland, had called local pawnshops looking for it. The pawnshop where the viola turned up called the cops, which brought Seifullah to court along with Denise Calliens of East Cleveland, the woman who pawned it for $125.

Calliens pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and McGinty wanted to hear from Seifullah before imposing a sentence. She spoke of the viola's importance to her and then offered to play. McGinty ordered the defendant's hands uncuffed "in case she felt the urge to clap."

She did.

Seifullah told the judge she had forgiven Calliens and didn't want her to go to jail. But McGinty looked at her record - "It had more convictions than Notre Dame had losses in football this year, which is saying something" - and decided she had to face the music: six months in the slammer.

Heh, Braxton kicked Omar's ass at the AA Game. Pancaked him three times!

Deion Walker, a ***** VA WR committed during the weekend too. This incoming class is going to be awesome, and is currently better than any other class right now (yes, even yours OSU fans....unless you get Pryor).

Things are looking up.

I'd disagree with that. OSU has addressed pretty much every position and has done it very well. They have arguably the best OL class in history among other top notch players
