Really? Where was he wrong then? And, I should note, be careful to point to facts he got wrong, and not opinion.

And, I might also add, take the name calling to PM. I'm tired of cleaning up threads with this bullshit. Edit: Said that wrong, if you want to have a pissing match with 27, do it via PM.

Charlie has ONE recruting class that is his. [Removed Text - dealt with in PM]

1. Charlie has one class that is his.2. You seem to know jack shit about football.

You are treading on thin ice once again N_Chief.

Can you please point out why you believe that the poster who you dissed in this post doesn't seem to know jack shit. And this is the second time in the past hour or so that you have been asked to back up one of your claims. Maybe this time you will or you will go back to the posts where you appear to be pulling stuff out of your ass and edit them appropriately. We are waiting...

Like I said Charlie has ONE class and a defense consists of more than a few good players. Not all that hard to figure out.

And that is your basis for stating that jaxbuck doesn't know jack shit about football?!? I think I need a little more "proof" than that to make such a broad denigrating generalization. What else do you have?

I don't care how many of NDs players are Charlie's. The joke that ND fans are missing is that for most of the past two years they have been singing his praises as the greatest coach since Gene Hackman in Hoosiers - yet they are using the "Ty's player's" card as an excuse for performance on the field.

If you need to excuse performance on the field where, pray tell, is the evidence you are a great coach?

But we will wait and see if losing 18 starters including a first round NFL quarterback prospect is the solution to your problems. I'm sure it is.

We in Columbus have been through the same thing. First JT won an NC with Cooper's players (2nd year - just like Charlie) and finally we are getting a chance to see if he can do anything with his own recruits.

Got my fingers crossed.

He's right. Charlie has 1 recruiting class and 2 very mediocre seasons under his belt. My bad on the 2 class thing.

Thats said, notice he isn't going after the main point I was making. The Domers have all their eggs in the "its all Ty's fault" basket.

Clocks ticking on that one.

Well done. I don't think it can be handled any better than that.

OK, TW had trouble recruting speed and it is pretty obvious that most teams ND faces have better athlete and are alot faster than ND. ND also did a bad job of recruting D- linemen and LB's as well as DB's. CW has had to move a few offensive players to the defensive side of the ball just to help with the speed aspec. ND's 2 deep his very heavy with freshan. Bottom line the poster does not have enough insight on ND football to make the post he made.

So did you mean to say that the poster doesn't know shit about ND football? Saying that is much different than the broad insulting generalization that you actually posted.

Coming into this year many Domer faithful were holding out hope that the young frosh DBs would provide speed, bite and more opportunism in the pass defense game. Twelve games have now passed. One striking omission in the statistics for the frosh? Few if any passes defended, their primary contributions have been to provide tackles, meaning either participation in second tier run defense, or trying to limit a YAC after a WR has already got the ball in hand. Few if any tackles for loss are featured in the stats, so successful blitzes by a Safety or CB simply are not happening. (And those surely demand both technique and sheer speed).
Some of those DBs posting low numbers have, it must be said, seen less action than the Domer faithful hoped would be true. Nonetheless, these are in part young prospects that were receruited by Weis, then presumably groomed by Minter.
It seems to my eyes that the DB situation at ND is not much better than last year. Certainly it is not good enough as a group to offer an assurance of any continued greatness. At some point when you have purportedly very good talent coming into a team and they are not showing up in the statistics column, or on the field of play, the finger gets pointed back to the coaches. (And that will be true whether the real problem is talent evaluation, or development, likely it is a bit of both in this instance).
I suspect that there will be a strong move to change some members of the Defensive staff in South Bend following this season.

We shall see but I heard the same thing last year before ND played Tenn.

That was a UT team that finished with a losing record. This will be a home game for a 2 loss LSU team with athletes out the yang.

The historic pattern that applies here is ND plays a good team, ND gets killed.
