Notre Dame (football only discussion)

They may not take a kid with a 920 that gets offered by Ohio State, Michigan or Wiscy. To say, however, that ND football players have the same incoming scores as the overall ND freshman class is complete fucking bullshit. If they did, you god damn know that ND would release those numbers every year and rub the rest of college football's nose in it.

The last time I saw actual academic numbers for FB players released Notre Dame ranked about mid-pack in comparison to B1G schools...behind a number of schools including Ohio State.

The 'higher standards' claim is complete & utter BS.

The BIG lays a less than golden egg on Saturday. A new "Come Back Kid" leads the Irish to a 4th quarter field goal, Arkansas loses to Louisiana Central, Notre Dame will now be back in the top 25 and if they beat Michigan State, top five.

Give me strength...

GO SPARTY, GO BLUE! Save the BIG and spare us all from Domers!

Notre Dame to the ACC. Committing 5 football games a year to the conference that gave us the Charlie Ward game, Catholics vs. Convicts, every BC upset and the GT/Rudy game.

Seems like a pretty decent deal for the Irish. ACC Football fans have to be thrilled.

It's all about the lacrosse program...

Well, the ACC isn't going to hold them to sharing revenue from their TV deal, allows them to play in a BCS elgible conference, allows them to keep their share of the BCS pie should they fail to qualify. They can keep their game with BC, probably drop one of the BIG games, and demand that they get to play in the CCG while playing only 5 conference games. The Texas of the North -- play our way or we'll take the ball and go home.

Funny, they could have achieved these same goals two years ago and saved the Big East and had an even easier path to a BCS game.

Now to sit back and listen to all the alums bitch about "giving up their unique status as an independent."

How in the world does ND remaining independent in football affect postseason play for them? Swarbrick speaks nonsense.

With 5 handpicked ACC games on their schedule they'll only have to beat one military academy to clinch their berth to the Famous Idaho Potatoes Bowl every year.
