Third year no charm for Notre Dame's Weis

No one needed to tell Charlie Weis that the third year is a big one for Notre Dame football coaches.

Knute Rockne, Lou Holtz, Frank Leahy, Ara Parseghian and Dan Devine each won a national title of some sort in his third season under the Golden Dome.

Their combined records in those years: 50-2-1.

This year's drubbings by Georgia Tech (33-3) and Penn State (31-10) have chipped away at Weis' reputation as an offensive mastermind.

And that was before a trip to the woodshed with TSUN!:slappy:

a couple posters on ntre ame's scout board posted that no domer thought that this season would be successful anyway. i tastefully responded, posting a link to the rock report's august poll that found 3,000 fans believing that they would go 8-4. in response to those posts, i received this from irish eyes:
