Notre Dame Fighting Irish (official thread of bowl failures)

LOL! You do realize that 3 times since 2000 OSU had a worse record than ND has had in the past 2 seasons. Granted I wish ND had done better than 9-3 and 10-3 but it's not like those were terrible seasons.

So, to support your argument you thump your chest by comaring your best two seasons against our worst three? Yeah, that's objective. Let's make some other comparisons, shall we? Since Tressel's arrival in 2001:

Head-to-head:
OSU 1-0
ND 0-1

Against Michigan (and points differential)
OSU 5-1 (+20)
ND 4-2 (-47)

All bowls:
OSU 4-2
ND 0-4

BCS bowls:
OSU 3-1
ND 0-2

Note the above stats focus on "the toughies"...in other words, the cupcakes for both teams have been eliminated. The stats focus on how we fared against each other, against Michigan, and in the bowls...the "big games". Against us, Michigan, and in bowls, ND is 4-6 while OSU is 9-3 against ND, Michigan, and in bowls.

As far as your 10-3 and 9-3 season not being terrible, that may be so--sort of--but they sure have some major ass-beating losses:

OSU 34-20
Mich 47-21
USC 44-24
LSU 41-14

Yeah, we got blasted 41-14 once during the last two seasons, but at least that was in the BCS national title game, a game ND hasn't even played in yet.

Why did you waste all that time on something I know and never disagreed with??

What was going on in the world of pop culture/sports January 1994?

  • Top on the charts in TV was Beverly Hills 90210
  • The top song was Can't Touch This by MC Hammer
  • * January 6 - Nancy Kerrigan is clubbed on the right leg by an assailant under orders from figure skating rival Tonya Harding's ex-husband.
  • January 21 - Lorena Bobbitt is found not guilty by reason of insanity on charges of mutilating her husband John.
  • January 28 - The first trial of accused murderer Lyle Menendez ends in a mistrial. He and his brother Erik are later found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
  • * January 30 - In Super Bowl XXVIII, the Dallas Cowboys hand the Buffalo Bills their fourth consecutive Super Bowl loss, 30-13 Troy Aikman, Michael irvin, Jim kelly, Thurman Thomas, and (soon) Emmitt Smith all played in that game, retired and have sincebeen inducted into the HOF.
There was something else football related but its so far back I have a hard time remembering......Oh yeah....ND won a Bowl game and the kids who are freshman this year weren't even in kindergarten yet.

Just thought I'd stop in and share a little trip down memory lane. 13 years (and counting) is a long fucking time.

There's no truth to the rumor that he was asking for a BJ, but because of his name was trying to only pay for a 'Hand' job.

Oh boy....How are the Domers going to explain how their "classy" program and "classy" players asking for BJs? This certainly should be hilarious. Irishenvy must be crashing right now with all the posters coming up with excuses.

Funny how rumors start. The article said nothing about a BJ, somebody only posted it to make a joke about his name, and now he's "asking for" a BJ.

Damn whoever started that nasty rumor!
