Ethics involving child rape occurring inside of PSU facilities, because of PSU FB and protected/renewed by PSU protection.

Your season-stripping ethics revolve around a fictitious girlfriend.

JFC. Really? It's more than just a ficticous girfriend, it's about how ND handled a contrived mass deception by one of its players (and possibly with direct assistance of members of the ND administration) in order to futher the personal agenda of that player and the publicity agenda of the program.

You can't totally compare the punishments...Ped State got hit with a $60mil fine, huge loss of scholarships, and a four-year post-season ban, along with the loss of the 111 victories. ND would only lose those victories in which Te'o played from the time the deceipt was initiated.

You need a tinfoil hat for this post.

If anyone of you thinks that no one at all within the ND administration had any idea about Te'o's story, then you are the one who needs the tinfoil hat. It's just a matter of how far back and to what depth did they know.

My thoughts exactly.

No, it's not. That's the core of this scandal. You're trying to make the cover-up into the smoking gun so that there's some comparison to PSU.

Show me some examples of programs that were stripped of entire seasons for lying. Teams get nailed for doing things wrong, and then have that punishment increased for lying about it. You're calling for them to nuke an entire season for doing nothing of consequence and then lying about it for 4 months.

What exactly did they accomplish by that lie? A mild amount of sympathy and a feel-good story?

I would imagine most are inclined to think the worst with how this is playing out.

They also think that about the ND administration.

I don't care whether they knew about it or when. It's all meaningless. Nobody was harmed by this, and nobody won any more games because of that either.

Only you, Mili, could draw a comparison between the systematic butt-raping of young boys over 20+ years and making up an imaginary girlfriend.

An imaginary girl is dead... true enough.

Seriously though, on all levels, there are I don't know how many orders of magnitude difference... but its a lot. Its not in the same league, It's not even the same sport.

I'm not even sure how You're supposed to handle a contrived mass deception, but, in the end, its a contrived mass deception... you're... covering up? (that seems redundant somehow). Not the systematic sodomizing of children - by multiple senior administration officials... for decades, with dozens of identifiable child victims.... using intimidation to perpetuate the silence while rape after rape continued...

I'm not even sure who or what the victim is here other than our collective credulity is...

Well, 'cept the poor made up girl with luekemia who apparently was so hideous she had to hijcak some other chick's picture.

Nobody even fell off a scissorlift. (No matter how much that would have made a fitting demise...survives near fatal car crash, cancer in remission, gloriously makes the trip to south bend, volunteers to help the football team... freak wind gust. Pow. Very sad. All before Manti could consummate the relationship. Blue Balls again for Manti)

Yeah I'm not seeing it...I mean, say for example they were all in on it, and it was a mass Notre Dame conspiracy. Fine...but where is the crime? Where is the victim? Where is the competitive advantage? They got plenty of media grease, but so did Tim Tebow...but that still didn't throw a jump pass or run a ball in for a TD for him. I see where it would be a despicable attempt to, I don't know, grow the fan base? Generate publicity? Encourage donations? But I don't see how it affected NCAA competitive balance, and I don't know how "ethics" would come into play when there was no victim.
