NoSuch Dame LB Manti "Snugglebunny" Te'o (official imaginary thread)

Seeing as Ped State had to violate a buttload (pun intended) of victories to to its handling of the Sandusky scandal (violating an NCAA ethics clause), could No Dame end up vacating all the games in which Te'o played from the time he "met" his "girlfriend"?

No...I just posted that because I have nothing else to do. :roll1:

The ND administration has clearly lied in public in order to protect its football program and may have even been complicit in the deceipt perpetrated on the media. So, yeah, I was dead serious.

Those things are neither crimes nor NCAA rules violations.

Yes, but it wasn't protecting its football program to cover up rape. Well, I mean, I don't think so. Its mind blowing, really, how many imaginary girlfriends are raped and it goes unreported? But, Its understandable from the victims point of view, given the existential scrutiny they'll face.

Now, I think I read on a Pedster board that Sandusky was actually violating underage unicorns... so, I mean that could be a mitigating factor...

That would make more sense than this herculean leap.

So then your smoking gun is what exactly, lying to the media? Telling tall tales about fake girlfriends?

It's humiliating, and PSU also told some lies to save face, thus the two situations are clearly comparable :roll1: No, one involved decades of despicable acts covered up and enabled directly by a university protecting its image instead of children. The other kept lying about a fictitious girlfriend

I can't find a single thing about this situation that is grounds for NCAA sanctions. What rule were they breaking?

Check again. There are ethics clauses in the NCAA guidelines...the ones the NCAA used to hammer Ped State.
PSU's ethics involved the coverup AND the raping of children for decades. It happened inside of PSU, because of PSU and was protected/renewed by PSU.

Your season-stripping ethics revolve around a fictitious girlfriend and a web of lies that spanned 4 months.

What about that is remotely similar?

What about that is damaging?

You're making an enormous leap to compare two embarrassing situations with many lies. Those two things don't erase the gigantic difference between what they were hiding.

School officials don't strip their schools of entire seasons every time they lie or sit on something. Devastating sanctions only hit when the crime being committed (NCAA or legal) is major enough to warrant harsh punishment.
