Hunter played well and quietly got 9 boards and 3 blocks, but I'm disappointed because I think he should have had 15 boards. Lauderdale, on the other hand, really shined in his limited minutes.

Last two games for Dallas: 19 minutes, 11 rebounds (5 offensive), 3 blocks, an assist, a steal, a big dunk against Ole Miss and the monster follow-dunk last night. The guys was an absolute beast out there in his limited minutes.

I cannot find Dallas's thread and did a search. Anyhow, he is becoming a beast on the boards and on defense. Hopefully by next season, he will have improved his offensive game a little because he will be a tremendous asset if he does. Just needs a little work on his free-throw shooting and a 10' jump shot and he will be a great asset:)

Not sure if this has been posted already:

My favorite part of the entire game is how the announcers were prasing Umass' point guard (Lowe I beleive) incessantly for the first 30 minutes of the game. Then all the sudden one of the said "wow, he looks really tired out there". Of course Butler played a ton of minutes, pushed the ball just as much as Lowe, and recieved about 1/10th of the praise.

Maybe it is my scarlet glasses but you would think that Umass was the favorite in that game the way they went on and on.

On the other hand, if Kufos comes back, then all Dallas needs to do is stand there and not foul out.

Again, I don't want this construed is disrespecting Hunter, because he was a monster throughout the NIT, but it's frustrating to watch him sometimes, because if he doesn't get involved early with a big put-back or an ally-oop, a prime example of this was last night, where Turner threw him a rocket through his hands and out of bounds, then Hunter is liable to take the next five minutes off and mope.

I know he's only been playing for five years, but his inconsistency is all mental, so that's the frustrating part.

Dallas and Kufos owned the floor when they were paired up last night, though. Oh dear, give me just one year of that! And we're adding B.J. Mullens ... filthy.

I saw the exact same thing you did...especially in the first half. There were 2 or 3 "loose ball rebounds" that seemed to bounce within 8-10 inches of him and seemed to barely reach out for them. Maybe his vision was blocked once the ball hit the floor but he was so close to the ball I was amazed that he didn't get it. The second half was a lot better.

Hunter will be missed, he has come a long way in two years!

Maybe he's just a real nice kid and doesn't to get too physical. Seriously, I think he might get down on himself pretty easily and since he has only played 5 years of organized ball maybe it takes them a little time to recover from his mistakes or perhaps he is not sure what to do.

That indeed was a rocket that Turner threw him on that possession. I could not have caught that one with my mouth:biggrin2:
