Nintendo Wii $250 on November 19th.

You have to have the remote and nunchuck to play the game.

The nunchuck has the joystick, so that's how you move around. Also, if you shake the nunchuck from side to side with your sword drawn you do the spin attack.

The regular remote makes the gameplay even more exciting. You flick the remote to draw your swords, then chop away like you would with a real weapon. You also aim your slingshot, bow and arrow, and boomarang at targets on the screen using the motion sensor. It's also pretty cool to fish on the side, as you use the remote to cast the line, and the nunchuck to reel your catch it.

That is too complicated for me...I'll stick with simple Wii Sports and maybe check out a golf game.

Why don't you try Madden. I hear the gameplay is pretty awesome with the remote.

Targets restocked today. The one across the road from where I work received six today at around 11:00. I got there at 12:00 and found that three had already been sold within that hour.

Seemed like a no-brainer given the Wii Remote, but EA has officially announced that they're throwing their weight behind the platform. Third party support (or lack of it) was the death knell to both the N64 and Gamecube. Looks like Wii won't have that problem.

Electronic Arts' CEO Larry Probst has confirmed the publisher's ambition to support Wii, second only to Nintendo themselves. In the statement, which was issued in a webcast of EA's latest financial results, Probst said: "Clearly Nintendo will always be number one on the Wii and Nintendo DS, but we believe that we can be number two."

Through the course of the webcast, the publishing giant confirmed that fifteen titles for Wii and Nintendo DS would be released during the 2008 fiscal year (between April 2007 and March 2008), including a version of Will Wright's Spore for DS.

This follows up comments EA made about seven or eight months ago to the same site:

"Once we started to experiment with Madden on Wii, there was an explosion of innovation. Everyone in the studio is energized by the creative opportunity afforded by both the hardware and controller. By reaching into our catalogue, we are able to bring a fresh and distinctive experience to some of EA's most popular franchises. Creatively, the game play possibilities are staggering and endless," said John Schappert, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EA.

That clinches it. It is now inevitable that I will buy one the first time I see one available.

I am in soooo much trouble at home effective immediately upon purchase. :ohwell:
