A&M win, Auburn loss to USC, MSU win
and we're playing for #16. I'm not going to be crying over this one if we're playing for Natl. Championship. I don't think it's crazy. Anyone who watched the Michigan-Ohio st. game knows this scenario could easily happen. We just have to have Mizzou lose tonight. Lose on the last play to your rival is a "better" loss than what any other 1 loss team would have.
I'd pay real monies to see Nick Saban scouting soccer practices.
I question nothing. BrilliantHow many national championships has this guy won? I think anyone who criticizes his game decisions should be institutionalized.
Still. War Damn Eagle.
"I've done my radio show a lot of Mondays after big losses for Alabama," said Finebaum, who moved to ESPN in the summer. "I think the South Carolina game a couple of years ago people were beside themselves. I'll never forget the (Texas) A&M game last year. Even the Governor came out and criticized coach (Nick) Saban, but I think this would be the all-timer.
"Alabama fans aren't really thinking about losing this game. They don't ever think about losing a game. I think they're probably a little more concerned about Missouri the next week, or maybe Florida State. This is not part of their DNA or their lexicon to think that we're going to lose to Auburn. I think it would be one of the most manic Mondays in Alabama history."
The video replay appeared to show the Alabama players watching the kick. The textbook says that the kicking team shouldn't watch the ball. The players should take their lanes and cover. Alabama practices the play during Friday walk-throughs. No one from the scout team poses as the returner. The kicking team just races downfield.
"We just imagine. Nobody actually returns it," Alabama tight end Brian Vogler said. "... You practice it so many times, and when it happens, you're not expecting that kind of speed."
Nick Saban says “Maybe I should have recruited a better place kicker, ya think?”
