NFL Rumors (Trades/Free Agents)

What you are basically saying is that Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, and Joe Montana were only role players as well because the championship teams they were on were loaded with talent...

I actually don't see that as a completely unreasonable argument, moreso for Aikman and Bradshaw than Montana though... Brady's a game manager, not a star QB.

You severely underestimate him... There's very few QB's in the league that could do what he's done, even with the team that he has around him...

What you are basically saying is that Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, and Joe Montana (possibly John Elway too) were only role players as well because the championship teams they were on were loaded with talent... That's crazy... (not that I'm putting Brady in their category, but it's basically the same argument you are trying to make)...

No one has ever considered Aikman or Bradshaw god-like. Montana, maybe, but he took games over better than anyone. Elway too, he could win a game by his will. I just don't see that in what Brady has done. Not to take away from his accomplishments, but he is no Joe Montana.

I can't believe we have not heard from Okinawa or stxbuck on the Bengals finally being rid of Tory James. They have left "subtle" hints this whole offseason about how they feel about him.

I don't think he's Pro-Bowl quality anymore, but I think he's a really good 3rd CB option covering the slot...

Marvin Lewis was already saying back in January that James would not be back with the team. So I think that public assurance from ML helped a lot of us Bengals fans sleep better long ago.

Hell, the way New England handles players though, he'll get eight picks as their nickel man and be back in the Pro Bowl. He'll be much better suited playing a rover style in a zone defense, as opposed to the man he tried to play in Cincy.

From SI.COM:

The Patriots hosted Ohio State receiver Ted Ginn Jr. and Fresno State defensive back Marcus McCauley yesterday at Gillette Stadium.
-- Boston Globe

The Steelers took a closer look at two potential first-round draft choices at the same position, plus a possible sleeper at receiver. Adam Carriker, a defensive end from Nebraska, and 19-year-old senior Amobi Okoye, a defensive tackle from Louisville, paid the Steelers a visit. Receiver Jacoby Jones of Lane College in Tennessee also visited the Steelers.

Look at page 30 on this thread, lots of rumor stuff with the Bucs. Hope you get some info you want.

No I have heard about the ideas with the RayDuhs but I am wondering if they put the same deal on the table for the Lions. The thing that just dumbfounds me is that with the needs of the Bucs if they miss in CJ then move down and go elsewhere. They could use Thomas, and Willis(LB from Ole Miss), Landry and or Adams/DE even Okoye if the go down far enough. Hell they could even use Quinn if Gruden wants to work with a rookie QB. One of the main problems I think this team has right now is Gruden believes that he is as big a genius as everybody made him out to be. I personally would like to seem them get Thomas, somebody has to clear the way for Williams. I would be fine with CJ though. Either way both of those players are going to be there and if for some reason not then move down, get more picks and address all of the many needs this team has.

SI.COM:

Bears linebacker Lance Briggs wants a trade out of Chicago. If a trade is struck with Washington, at least the Redskins reportedly have agreed to terms with Briggs on a new contract.

Calvin Johnson is considered by many teams to be the best player available in the draft, and the Redskins are smitten with him as well, sources said, mulling over options to trade up to get him (the team has shopped cornerback Shawn Springs to Detroit, which has the second overall pick, again in recent weeks).

The Panthers remained silent Tuesday about a potential trade of Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kris Jenkins. If a deal is going to happen, it probably will come Friday or Saturday as teams get ready for the draft. St. Louis is believed to be interested. The asking price for Jenkins isn't known, but there are indications the Panthers want a second-round draft pick this year and another pick either this year or next.
