NFL Rumors (Trades/Free Agents)

I don't see a QB in this draft that could immediately be put in behind a poor line and produce. They could have had it last year with Vince, but they somehow managed to convince themselves out of the hometown pro bowler and Reggie Bush.
Plummer wouldn't be a bad pickup for them, with or without Carr, but I agree that Plummer for a 1st isn't even worth considering -- Bell doesn't exactly sweeten the pot either (at least not for me).

The article I read stated that the deal could be Plummer, Bell, and Denver's first for the #8 pick... They wouldn't be moving out of the first round, they would just move down to #21 and pick up two starters... I really don't think that's an awful deal, whatever you think of the players that they are getting... They need a lot more help than what they can get with 1 pick at #8... This deal would net them 3 starters most likely...

if the texans swing that trade for Plummer and Bell, as a fan I would quit.....that's such a terrible deal, especially when Plummer isn't a starter anymore and Tatum Bell is completely expendible.....worse than the Borwns moving up one spot to pick a player who wasn't going to be taken IMO

I know they wouldn't be moving out of the 1st. My point was that Plummer isn't really much of an upgrade and a lot of us think Bell is just a product of the system. Are they really getting 2 starters ?? In my opinion, not really.
From Houston's pov, the only thing I like is that Plummer is mobile. But if they wanted a mobile QB... well... they screwed the pooch on that one last year.

It depends on if they are looking to trade Carr. I don't see them getting a first rounder for Carr so 2nd would be the highest. I dont know. Maybe the Oline at 21 with Plummer and Bell then a high 2nd for another Olineman and DB with the 8th pick second round might just work for them.

I'd take David Carr in Miami in a heartbeat though.

If they can pull off all of that, it starts to look good. That's a lot of help in a single offseason. QB would still be a long-term issue, but they could get a ton of potential quality players and buy time to find a QB.

I suppose moving down in the first then moving Carr for a second would add some depth. The first post didn't include Denvers #21 pick.

I still don't think Bell helps Houston much. If they could turn around and move him for a 2nd or 3rd, they could really address some depth issues with 4 picks in the 2nd and 3rd round (this is all just talk, haven't heard anything to support the theory),

In light of the events of the past weekend, I'm hearing rumblings that the Bengals are interested in acquiring Pacman Jones.

I'm sure these incidents are anomalies. Once he joins a mature organization like the Bungles, I'm sure these blips will disappear from the radar. He will be surrounded by intelligent, law-abiding citizens and everything will be hunky-freaking-dory.
