If Daunte went to Oakland, you should be able to talk about how messed up the draft would then be.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb from the Buffalo Bills on Monday night for defensive tackle Darwin Walker and a conditional draft pick in 2008.
and when the perception is wrong?Only relevant if the one who established the historical precedent for said team is still involved with said team, hence in the case of the Raiders, still somewhat relevant I'd say.
obviously...but do you really need to be able to throw 80 yards just so you can throw 15?Arm strength is needed for the 10 and 15 yard out-routes. That's really what separates college-caliber QBs from NFL-caliber QBs, and that's the biggest reason why many great college QBs never make it in the NFL.

again, obviously. but what can throwing 80 yards do for you that throwing 60 or 50 yards can't? get the ball to the 15 yard WR .01 seconds faster?the common belief is that if your arm is strong enough to throw it 80 yards, then it is strong enough to throw the 15 yard out harder than others, which is quite a valuable asset in the nfl.

Nobody drafts first rounders just based on what the owner "likes".

That would give the Bears the #6 pick of the draft. Now, if this is credible, and I am the GM of the Bears, I hurry up and make that trade before the Washington GM comes to his senses. Briggs is a good LB, but he plays in a Very Good Defense. I don't think he would be as productive in Washington. Then the Bears with the #6 pick of the draft, that would give them a ton of options.

I think that they also have to see who they have to step into that spot... They won't get an OLB that will help them right away at the #6 pick...
