NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

I thought even the low scoring games were great. Had enough crazy plays to make them entertaining, especially 49ers v Packers. Rams v Buccs was even entertaining since watch Brady get murdered was is always a riot. The near epic choke job just added to the entertainment.

If I followed the NFL more I'd probably call it the best playoff weekend ever.

I am from Saint Louis and supported the lambs. After the stuff that they pulled when Modeling to lost angles, they can go pound sand. Am now rooting for the Niners and a trifecta. Who knows if more than a few angelinos show up, mainly to fight, I would guess. SF should take over that digital toilet.

Aren’t tax payers still paying for the TWA Dome, which no longer has the Rams or TWA?

Yes. Strangely or not, the dome now makes more money in yearround use as a convention center and events venue. The city and county recently settled a lawsuit against Kroenke and the NFL for three-quarters of a billion dollars. Unlike the Cleveland lawsuit, no one wanted another franchise.

During that game, I think duh, U, came to comprehend the phrase, “Hit them hard and see how they fall…..apart.”

The oral history of that game that SI published, I think, 10 years ago for the game’s 10th anniversary, is actually terrifying to read today. Seven or eight players played that game with concussions. Fox, Nickey, and Krenzel all admit today they would not have been cleared to play the 4th Q if that game were played today. Krenzel was looking out his helmets ear hole on the INT to Taylor that Clarett stripped. Had to be helped off the field and immediately went back in on offense.

WOW! Krenzel is one of my all-time favorites, because he was tough as nails and clutch. Boy, how Woody would have loved that guy!

best part about all that lawsuit was all the other owners basically “fuck we’re screwed” and bailing on Kroenke

That was some dumb D on the first play. Don't let hill get a free run
Buffalo should have just grabbed the receivers for two plays, giving up 2 penalties and getting the game down to less than 5 seconds left and KC at best at their own 45-yard line. They only could have thrown a Hail Mary then.

Buffalo defense really had a bad game. Missed assignments in the backfield, missed tackles that gave up big plays, and just fell for every Mahomes fake there was. It looked like they were afraid to touch Mahomes.

Sure glad the ‘01 team didn’t take that approach with Dorsey, but then again, that was a Tressel Team. They hit anything there, moving or not.
