NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

I'm as big of Mahomes fan as there is, but Rodgers doesn't benefit from all the weapons or the offensive creativity that Mahomes gets to play with. It's basically him and Davante Adams and you still can't stop it.
I watch the games. The degree of difficulty in the plays Rodgers makes is not particularly high. He smartly scans the field and seizes upon the optimal play very quickly, and he deserves credit for his mental mastery of the game and execution. Call it better coaching, a weaker schedule, or whatever you want but Mahomes is asked to make much tougher plays on a series-to-series basis. Tampa stuffed the run and practically neutered Rodgers and GB as a result. The Packers actually run to set up the pass.

When Rodgers has the #1 graded LT and #1 C in the NFL, plus a well over 1,000 yard RB, you clearly have some other weapons. Rodgers is seemingly always throwing to somebody who is wide open, a luxury most QBs, including Mahomes, don't get in the NFL. His OL play is clearly superior to KC in terms of lack of pressure and rushing attack support. KC also has played a tougher schedule than GB. The Packers have gotten 6 games against crap NFC North teams and they also drew the weakest division in the AFC for their crossover games. Think of the stats Mahomes could put up if he got to face the same schedule as Rodgers, who was also not the 2020 Super Bowl champ - a fact which made every team this season bring their A+ game for the Chiefs.

Aaron Jones is averaging 5.6 yards per carry this season, which makes him the #1 RB in the league this season, but yeah, let's ignore the great ground game the Packers have because Rodgers doesn't make mistakes.
