Seems like it. Thankfully I think it's much easier for OSU to figure out the game than it is for TTUN to adapt to the playoff.

To me, it's about Day preparing himself and the team for the game like it's the playoffs. He can't literally do that since there isn't a 4 week break, but the planning can be spread out and the intensity ramped up. More has to be risked, there has to be added aggression and execution has to be improved 10x.

I'm still of the opinion that Day saw Urban's coaching style of 'always grinding' fall apart in horrific fashion multiple times and is still working out a good alternative to it. He's much more intense in the playoffs, which makes sense, but the same edge is needed for TTUN.
Yeah it feels like he is still trying to find the balance between Meyer's live and die with every play. And calm don't get too high or too low.

The latter is better for mental health and stability of results but sometimes you need the former. Playoffs especially but big games in general.

Definitely. Him being able to find it in the biggest games, even though he's lost more than he's won, is the reason I'm still hopeful.

Just lost the Wazzu tackle to USC.

In another thread I was told I was a big meanie and everything is fine.

But I have no idea what we are going to do in terms of depth at tackle.

We took PJ and Dawand for granted.
They were dominant and healthy.

We are pretty much stacked everywhere but OT and I’m running out of ideas.

This notion that there is another portal window and I need to chill out doesn’t smell right.
Seems to me the guys transferring in the May window are players who got beaten out in spring. It also means they won’t be here for winter conditioning or spring ball.
Getting a tackle from Purdue who wasn’t going to start there doesn’t arouse me.

You're not a big meanie. You're a chicken little...

One day the sky might actually be falling but we'll ignore you cause you screamed it the 20 other times it wasn't

I'm starting to get concerned on OT after missing the Wazzu kid. Not just the starters, but depth. Fryar will be solid at RT, but nothing but question marks and thin depth past that. I hope there's an answer there we aren't seeing.

Let’s take a deep breath here. We are one of the top 4 premier programs in the country and prob #2, maybe #3 when it comes to current NFL production.

Id posit this…..imagine being a non P5 tackle in a relatively good spot. You’re otherwise happy in your situation but now see a huge void at tOSU at center and OT. You aren’t sure if tOSU is an immediate “Yes” on taking you but you also don’t want to shoot your dick off at current school by entering portal.

I have to imagine there are kids around country who would love opportunity to get to OSU for next year but wanted to wait and see exactly what situation was. It’s crystal clear now….we need players on OL and there isn’t a much bigger stage with better resources.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I still think we end up with at least one portal OT….I’d imagine they’re getting back-channel feelers from multiple places.
