Newark High School (Newark,Ohio)

Do you remember the Snow brothers or are you a young pup:biggrin:. I want to say they played in the mid-70s maybe.
I may be alittle late on the info, but I will toss it out there anyway. My recollection from being a kid growing up in Licking County was that Newark also had a Pren Snow. I believe he played for Newark in '70 when they got beat by Col. East in either the semi's or finals. This was the East team that had Dwight Lamar, Ed Ratleff, and another guy?( I am suddenly doubting my Memory). Could have been '69. Those 3 East players all played Div. 1 basketball, none of them at OSU.:(

Congratulations to Newark!!! Great to see them get this far.

Props to Newark. Now they will have to play against a high school who probably has kids on their team from Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. They like to recruit their athletes. Hopefully, the Wildcats can put them in their place.

Avery === Western Carolina...

That is way too low for this kid IMO...Easy lower tier big ten, and hell I was thinking about getting ahold of coach Matta and telling him he missed one in his own backyard...

One of the best performances I have ever witnessed in person...Kid dominated the game all over the floor, takin it to the rack, shot the three, shot the midrange jumper, divin' on the floor for loose balls, stealing the ball, rebounding the ball, scoring 30+ and topping it off with a crowd roaring dunk...

Honestly I was told before the final four by someone that saw them at the fairgrounds that Newark would be lucky to stay in the games with the teams that were going to state...The blew these teams out and looked great doing it...

BTW I think the whole town of Newark was there tonight, they made the schott louder than it is at some mens games...
