When it can be confirmed that Coach Fickell takes the offensive game plan and starts picking offensive plays off the game sheet I will gladly hand over some vCash. Fickell may have an idea to the offensive game plan, but his hours will not be spent in the offensive staff room. That will be Bolls, Sic, Peterson, Doc, Drayton, a GA and the QC.... Fickell will stop in here and there to see what is going on, but he will not be doing the film breakdown and game planning for the offense. He will be in the Defensive game planning meetings. And on game day, his time and energy will be on the defensive side of the ball and will be mostly on the defensive headset. He will switch his headset to the offensive side of the ball when we have it and will comment here and there but he wont be calling the plays. So if by involved you mean listening on the headset and adding his comments and thoughts to what is being called by Bolls and the other coaches, sure, he will be involved. If you think he will be calling plays, using hand signals, and designing checks and alerts during the week.... No he will not be involved to that extent.

I am basing my opinion off of the 2 years I worked for the Buckeye Football staff. Sitting in the game planning meetings, preparing scouting reports, breaking down film, and sitting in the coaches box on the headsets on game days. Even though it is now Fickell's show, most of this staff is the same and they have been doing it a certain way for years with success. He might change it all up, but I wouldn't think so.

Make it 500,000 vCash. A little more than half of what I have.

If this is how you're defining involved I think we can assume that your experience with the staff was mostly with the cornerbacks, as you are obviously an expert in back pedaling.

Did you read more than that one sentence in this thread?

I worked with the O Line...

If y'all would like, I will avoid sharing insight as to how things worked behind the scenes. Just post a vBet and I will put the vCash up.

I could totally see the same type of gameplanning from the '01 season. Dont make mistakes on offense, get the running game going and Silver Fucking Bullets flying around on defense. Alot of people overlook or forget the amount of injuries we had in the defensive backfield last season. Those guys are coming back and we'll have some great experience to put in there with them. If the LB's step up we'll be very strong again. The Dline is going to be a monster.

Everyone's a little testy lately. Bring on some damn football!

Priorities - no mercy

After re-watching the Sugar Bowl ; I am hoping for some offensive anger this year.

The same Tressel-ball coaches are likely going to be calling the plays, but, hopefully, Fickell will inject some DL attitude. Love to see a merciless juggernaut -- burying teams by multiple touchdowns rather than letting the opposition hang around and steal games.

The players are capable -- are the coaches?

I'm actually pretty pumped about this season... particularly the chance to see Jamaal Berry get more reps. I know everyone's talking about Hall and Smith... but there's something special about Berry. Throw in Hyde and the return of Boom and our riches at running back are just sick. Philly Brown and Stoneburner should also be set to shine. If T.Y., Fields or Louis breaks out then we are good-to-go at receiver.... then Posey comes back! (I'd love it to be T.Y. because of his size). If our quarterback can just convert 3rd downs and limit mistakes, with what I assume will be an excellent defense there's no reason we can't run the table. There, I said it out loud.

I totally agree with you about Berry. Jamaal has that special break away speed that drives a defense crazy. I just want to see Berry get the chance. He has the speed that you just can't teach.
