Now that we know TP won't be there it seems we should get back to the kind of offense that won us our last NC...something more along the lines of what Wisconsin is doing. You'll remember that back then Krenzel wasn't exactly lights-out but he always made the throw that counted. We've got a stable of backs and linemen who are much better at run blocking than pass protection. If we make the right adjustments to our scheme we can still do this thing. I am by no means giving up on the 2011 season.

Absolutely agree. There are plenty of outstanding players still on this football team. I don't think we'll have an "the cupboard was bare" excuse like our friends up north.

And.. while I don't want to lose to TCU (what Wisconsin is doing) I have no problem with a team that establishes the run.

Expect many many catchy little phrases like this on ABC and ESPN next football season. I'm sure their graphic design people are already working around the clock on them.

Oh joy....
Despite scandal, Buckeye fans show support for coach Tressel....will the loyalty continue, or will they become Fickell?

As strange as it may seem with our success with Pryor, I was always nervous about the fact that he had too much control of the offense. EVERYTHING went as he went. This might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. BTW, the defense doesn't worry me.

With Tress and Pryor both gone, the target gets harder to define. That will make the media witch hunt a lot tougher. Always a good thing.
Moving forward, I'm much more hopeful now.

I guess it's Gene Smith's turn (don't think they'll hit President Gee before Gene).

So...

Success is a Fickell thing.. tm

I know the Buckeyes might have little talent speed bump. It won't be realized for two or three seasons. The roster is still chock full of talented kids. The recruiting classes in the next two seasons may have a couple of misses due to our Pryor shenanigans and the changes that are taking place, but once kids see that the WHAC didn't burn to the ground and we still have a top notch University, top notch Fans, TBDBITL, top notch facilities, top notch tradition and a continued sense of pride and focus on being the best place for a young man to play college football, we will be on top again within the next 5 years. Write it down.

Personally, I don't think the offense of the last couple of years was drastically different from the offense of 2002. The strengths and weaknesses of the personnel were certainly a bit different, but the general design and schematic philosophy seem pretty similar to me.
