Nebraska Cornhuskers (corn)

Mickey Joseph would be the smartest man in the city of Lincoln if he were to get on the phone and call Louisiana and get on the phone with that crazy Cajun down there.

It's not like he's got marital problems any longer...

Didn’t he just take $17M to walk out that door (brotha)?

If his contract says he loses so much as a dime of that, he’d be a fool to pick up a whistle right now… especially in Lincoln. I’m really not trying to be an ass when I say this, but for all the reasons enumerated ad nausium, UNL is DOA. The docs who put Lee Majors back together wouldn’t even attempt it.

Their best bet is to get some assistant from a big P5 school, or a HC from a G5 looking to have the name of Nebraska HC on their resume. I know that may sound funny, but a HC at say Texas State, Old Dominion or Miami(OH) may be fine with that. As would a LB, WR or OL coach at a school like Washington, Texas Tech, or Arizona.
The known coaches who are already proven is just a lazy tactic that big media companies use because it gets clicks and views. No one with half a brain would seriously think that Urban Meyer or Matt Rhule would go to Lincoln, nor would Oregeron or Herman who both have been paid handsomely to not coach.

The sad part is the further UNL sinks the more likely they are to feel the need to take a big risk. But the big risks for them , so far, have not panned out.

I honestly think they should go back after Pelini. Unless there is something tangible of which we haven’t heard that prevents him from coming back, I think both he and the fans would be happier together than they have been apart.

I can’t say for sure, but I’d have to imagine that getting back with an Ex may be tempting… but both sides would recognize how ugly that baby would be if they hooked up.

Nebraska is the venus fly trap of CFB coaching. I would be shocked if Stoops left his winning program and probably happy life in Kentucky. Herman has nothing to lose, so if NU courts him he would be my bet.

Tom Herman would probably like the job:

1) I'm sure it would pay a lot more than being an analyst for the Bears, etc.

2) According to Google, there are several "Titty Bars" around Lincoln; The Office Gentlemen's Club, The Foxy Gentlemen's Club Lincoln, NE, The Platform Strip Club, and The Night Before Lounge, etc.

Too many bridges burned.
