Nebraska Cornhuskers (corn)

However, McCaffrey is a hell of an athlete but has looked completely terrible throwing the football.

Luke is 6'2", 200 pounds. Christian is 5'10", 205 pounds.

Time to stop the QB experiment and focus on running/receiving skills. But he'll probably go to some mid-level program and keep trying to play QB.

Two words to these fuckers: Frank. Solich.

Not that he’s some God of coaching, or that he would have won national titles, or even that he could have stayed any more sober than Gary Moeller. But when they unceremoniously shitcanned him after a 9-3 season to chase the flavor of the month, they summarily killed Saint Toms entire institutional culture of winning in the process. Sorry, not sorry, I feel the same for them as I did when UNC basketball fired Guthridge after going to 2 Final 4s...fuck you, you got what you deserve.

Yeah... that has never sat well with me. I believe that there's been some reflection about that choice being made, but who knows for sure.

Are there Catholics in Nebraska?

In my travels there, I would say that they're sparse.

Sock thinks that Nebraska are classy idiots. My brother sock puppeteer actually trolled those idiots about Tressel coming to coach there. Also, they got rid of the skrong option attack. Sock likes strong option attacks. Cornhuskers haven’t won a conference title or major bowl game in the 21st century. Please bring back option attack.

Apologies on the source but this is too funny not to share.

They were gung-ho about playing football last season - with Coach Frost saying they’d schedule a game in Uzbekistan if they had to! All that talk to end up 3-5 and now they want out of playing Oklahoma this season. Not a good look, Frosty.

Icing on the cake will be them losing to whoever fills in as the replacement.

Nebraska reaffirms plan to play football game against Oklahoma

Nebraska said it plans to play Oklahoma as scheduled this season and won't seek to replace the game with an eighth one at home, after reports surfaced that the school was trying to get out of the matchup.

"Due to the economic devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to Husker Athletics and the local community, our administration did explore the possibility of adding an eighth home game this fall," Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos said in a statement Friday afternoon. "That option would have helped us mitigate cost-cutting measures and provide a much-needed boost to our local economy. Ultimately, the decision was made to move forward with our game at Oklahoma in 2021. We have the utmost respect for the University of Oklahoma, and this storied rivalry, and I know our fans have been excited about this series for a long time."

Nebraska cheerleader saves a stranger’s life in the middle of Applebees

Kaela Meyer just learned CPR in November. She performed it for the first time on Sunday, saving a man's life

A Nebraska cheerleader was in the right place at the right time on Sunday. University of Nebraska-Lincoln senior Kaela Meyer saved a man’s life at Applebees in Gateway Mall.

Meyer and her mom were eating lunch at Applebees. The two were sitting in a booth, when Meyer noticed a man had fallen to the ground and started having a seizure.

“I saw him on the floor,” Meyer said. “He turned blue, and so I was like I don’t think he’s breathing. That’s not good. I was like hey I know CPR.”

"It was tough for sure, we didn't get the exact results we wanted, but personally there was a lot of ups and downs as far as on the football field," Martinez said in Nebraska's first "Through Our Eyes" video series this spring. "Next year is definitely a make or break it year. I can't complain. The good, the bad ... I'm thankful to be here.

"I've gotten to the point in my career where I'm going to leave it all out there and let the rest take care of itself."

Nebraska counting on sharper Adrian Martinez in ‘prove it’ season

USATSI_15240306-e1619727252940.jpg

Adrian Martinez will be a rare four-year starting quarterback at Nebraska this fall and yet, for all his experience, he is one of the team’s biggest mysteries.

He was among the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the country as a freshman in 2018 and appeared on Heisman Trophy candidate lists the next spring.

But a sophomore slump set in amid injuries, he seemed to lose a step and committed 13 turnovers in 10 games. It didn’t get better in last year’s pandemic-shortened season. He continued to struggle hanging onto the ball, and he lost the starter’s job for two games as the Cornhuskers went 3-5.
