Nebraska Cornhuskers (corn)

SCOTT FROST GETS DUNKED ON
Nebraska head coach Scott Frost wasn't exactly shy or subtle about second-guessing quarterback Luke McCaffrey's decision to transfer from the program.

The problem is, Frost's house is made of very delicate glass. And the McCaffrey family was happy to redirect that stone.

In any normal scenario, you'd think that comments like this would hurt Nebraska's future recruiting efforts, but seeing as how the Huskers' 2022 class currently sits at a putrid No. 48 in the country, it can't really get that much worse anyway!

I don’t see anything particularly controversial with what Frost said, which has been emphasized by basically everyone as far as I can tell because it is an objective fact that transfers are skyrocketing at the moment under the new rules.

Seems like the McCaffrey family is overreacting and coming off as douchebags to me, which probably reinforces Frost’s point, if he was calling them out.

You shouldn’t insinuate that a player of yours transferred because they got bad advice.

Between Adrian and Taylor they’ve QB’d 7 of the last 11 seasons, I think. Both look like they’ll be 4 year starters(ish).

It’s like if Reggie Ball had a younger brother to carry on the legacy of average.
Taylor Martinez was a big "what if" to me. I watched some games of theirs where he would flash the talent and look unstoppable at times (I remember him playing really well against us in, I think, 2011). Then, he'd have a game where he'd chuck 3 bad interceptions and look like a scrub.

Frosty has always kind of looked like an arrogant douchebag, IMO. If his comments were directed at the McCaffrey family, he should probably keep his mouth shut - (a - he himself transferred when he was their age and b - he needs to worry about winning some games and not taking potshots at players). If his comments were directed at the current state (and likely future) of college football, then he's got a valid point.

The McCaffrey's aren't looking great here though either. Both brothers (there are only 2 playing college ball right now, right?) have transferred at least once. Its not painting them in the most favorable light, IMO.

I certainly can't fault Dylan for bailing on the sinking ship up north, but Luke leaves Nebraska for Louisville, then leaves again after a couple months when it's apparent they aren't going to serve up the starting job on a silver platter? The dude had a 120.4 QBR over two seasons with a 1:2 td/int ratio for Corn. That's some Forcier shit right there...

Scott Frost better watch his back.

By retiring, Moos, whose salary was $1.15 million this year, gives up the $1.25 million he would have received under a deferred compensation agreement if he was still athletic director in December 2022. The agreement stipulates he forfeits that money if he voluntarily resigns or is no longer employed for reasons other than "permanent disability, death or involuntary termination."

“You start looking — who are the Nebraskas around the country?” he continued. “And those are great conversations on lazy May days. Is it a Tennessee? Is it Michigan? Are these pockets of places around the country that are just, no matter what — no matter how many times they have a new coach, no matter how many times the fans say, ‘This is our year,’ it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be.”
