Nebraska Cornhuskers (corn)

At this point, I just don't see Frost, or really anybody, turning Corn around. Frost was supposed to be their "Harbaugh." Hot coaching name and an alumni to boot. The resume was much shorter, but he was a guy almost everyone called a homerun. Harbaugh has fallen well short of expectations, but Frost is on his way to worse.

If you can row a boat in Minnesota you can plow a field in Nebraska or whatever metaphor is effective.

It’s all about the hire. I thought Frost was going to be a great fit. Will see.

Oh, I don't doubt there's a hire out there that can replicate what Fleck is doing in Minny or what Wisconsin has been over the past two decades. Maybe I worded it incorrectly and it probably depends on one's definition of "turn around." I'm living in Corn country, and their desire/expectation is a return to what they were under Osborne. That I never see happening.

Scott Frost asked if he'll support national anthem kneeling

With flag kneeling during the national anthem becoming a major talking point this summer across the football spectrum following Drew Brees' comments earlier this month, college football coaches are being asked to comment on how they'll handle potential player protests this season and help in the fight against racial in equality. Nebraska coach Scott Frost said Tuesday he backs his players' rights to do what they choose and freedom of expression.

Frost said his team is rarely on the field for the national anthem, but he wants his players to “feel free to voice their opinions” and won't determine their response to social injustice across America.

“We’ll see how this thing shakes out,” Frost said Tuesday, via The Omaha-World Herald. “I know there are a lot of strong opinions, both ways. The only way I would answer that is, I want our players to be able to voice their opinions. I don’t want to direct those opinions. There are only a few schools in our league that are out on the field for the national anthem. We’re not out on the field unless we decide to change it.

"It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out. But I want our guys to feel free to voice their opinions.”
