ND +5.5 at Sparty (ov/un 43.5) Sat 8 ET, ABC

For everyone that is irritated at ND's 3-0 start, rest easy--Kelly and the boys are sure to choke away another close one to scUM this weekend.

FUCK YOU! I mean that in the nicest possible way mind you. It's just that living here I've been able to avoid most ND coverage, because well, they suck. After last night, every commercial break is "ND moves up the polls" or I have to hear BK say "It's a signature win". I promise you I want nothing more than ND to fall on their face..I just can't cheer for scUM to make me happy...EVER!

I won't be cheering for scUM to win, I'll be cheering for ND to lose.

I won't be cheering for scUM to win, I will be cheering for scUM to get ASS RAPED.

I don't care who the opponent is.
I hope Notre Dame beats scUM by 100, then proceeds to lose every game by the same score. Best for everyone if that happens.
I've never understood this from Ohio State fans. Can you explain why you feel this way?

I love to watch the BUCKEYES beat Michigan. I wish other Big 10 teams beat them more often, but I've never hated Michigan... I certainly don't give a damn for the whole state of, but hate? No.

Did Michigan kick your dog, steal your pick up and run off with your girlfriend? Did Michigan jump your claim just before you hit the mother lode, steal you patent, impregnate your daughter? Did you wake up from a party and discover that a UM grad gave you a face tattoo with "Go Blue!" written across your forehead?

Then, can you explain how a Notre Dame, a team the Buckeyes seldom get a shot at, victory helps Ohio State? That's the part that really has me bamboozled.

Tell me again how Big 10 ooc losses don't matter. Explain again how Michigan losing to Notre Dame helps Ohio State.

I can't remember the last time I looked at the polls and didn't see at least one Big 10 team in the top 10.

It doesn't matter because Ohio State is rebuilding this year and can't go to a bowl game anyway.

Perhaps I will give slightly more of a damn about this conference strength stuff next season, but probably not.

Did ND do any of those things to you? Did any other team do any of those things to you? OK, so we agree that your metric about disliking another team is ridiculous. That's part of sports--get over it. If you don't dislike UM, that's cool, but save us the patronizing speech, OK?

What has me bamboozled is the fact that you apparently think a UM win helps Ohio State. Please save me a rehash of the attenuated conference strength argument too.

How's this for why I hate UM--their head coach beats a hapless UMass team by 50 this weekend, all while starting a convicted felon at linebacker. Worse yet, their fanbase has historically acted as if they occupy a seat above other dirty programs (OSU included) that would engage in such behavior. So that's enough for me to hate them.

This, and the fact that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" :) Woody was also the Irish's best recruiter in his day. He'd convince Midwest recruits that were split between ND and UM to go to the Irish so he wouldn't have to face them. Anythng to hurt that school up north.

So then, when the annual, "What about Boise State/Cinderella/Queen for a Season/Big East/ACC bowl assignment?" argument begins I can count on you to say, "it doesn't matter that they play nobody/in a weak conference, they went 11 and 1 they deserve a shot at a BCS game?"

And when next season rolls and the Buckeyes begin ranked, oh let's say around 22 and work up to the top ten and the pundits at SI, AP, ESPN, CBS, ABC. NBC et al are saying, "Well, their ooc schedule is soft and they play in a weak conference." I can count on you to say, "the most we deserve is a shot at the Rose Bowl cause even though we were undefeated the conference wasn't that tough."
