The only SOS I'm concerned with is the one that goes out right before the meteor hopefully strikes.

And when next season rolls and the Buckeyes begin ranked, oh let's say around 22 and work up to the top ten and the pundits at SI, AP, ESPN, CBS, ABC. NBC et al are saying, "Well, their ooc schedule is soft and they play in a weak conference." I can count on you to say, "the most we deserve is a shot at the Rose Bowl cause even though we were undefeated the conference wasn't that tough."
Hmmm, didn't realize I was being patronizing, but OK. the questions remains, how does Ohio State benefit from a Notre dame win?buckeyesin07;2216218; said:Did ND do any of those things to you? Did any other team do any of those things to you? OK, so we agree that your metric about disliking another team is ridiculous. That's part of sports--get over it. If you don't dislike UM, that's cool, but save us the patronizing speech, OK
What has me bamboozled is the fact that you apparently think a UM win helps Ohio State. Please save me a rehash of the attenuated conference strength argument too.
How's this for why I hate UM--their head coach beats a hapless UMass team by 50 this weekend, all while starting a convicted felon at linebacker. Worse yet, their fanbase has historically acted as if they occupy a seat above other dirty programs (OSU included) that would engage in such behavior. So that's enough for me to hate them.

When UM wins and does so enough to continue outclassing sanctioned OSU in the eyes of recruits, suddenly the dozens of mutually targeted recruits start to like Michigan more. And when those kids head north, they not only leave a hole in OSU's recruiting class, they are spending their next 3-5 years in direct opposition of OSU's success, meaning a current hs senior that goes to Michigan and redshirts could have a negative impact on OSU for Six Years.

No need to rationalize anything or convince people of what you believe. It doesn't matter if you have the most cogent argument in the world or simply hate Catholics more than general studies majors. In other words, who gives a crap what teams others are rooting for or against?
