NCAA09 PS3 Big Ten-Pac Ten Dynasty (Official Thread)

This is tough. I got beat by #16 Auburn pretty handily. I scored late to make it one score but they beat me up pretty bad.

The worst things for me about these sliders were the lack of user catch and the inability of the user defense to get off blocks. Everytime the CPU goes to the outside it looks like a punt return.

Another thing, it is extremely difficult to blitz in this. The CPU QB picks it up everytime and makes the right read.

I don't want to even think about what USC or Oklahoma are going to do to me. However, I think if we can keep the league together through year 1, year 2 might start to get really fun

...WR catching and User defensive awareness are going to be bumped up another 5-10 points before we advance, but I otherwise like these sliders.
I will also be increasing user tackling from 40 to 50.

It looks like WR catch and QB accuracy in the B10P10 Dynasty is already set higher or equal to what it was in the MAC Dynasty. Other factors like being on Heisman, penalties, and knockdowns must have a much greater affect on the problem we're having in the passing game, than WR catch and QB accuracy. So I'm going to play around with those settings tonight if the woman doesn't have any plans. Otherwise, I'll do it tomorrow morning. I noticed that Hoyer throws a much flatter ball than Hartline or Pulley ever did, and Hoyer's attributes are somewhere between the two, when it comes to throwing. So knockdowns set to 100 may have a lot more affect on the QB accuracy than I suspected. I might also bump pass block from 0 to 5. I didn't really get a ton of pressure on my QB with it set to 0, but that setting may cause some sort of "happy feet syndrome" that would obviously affect accuracy...or maybe I just wasn't getting my feet set before I threw. :(

I'll I have to say is wow.

71-0. Unreal.

I gave up around 40-0  and started running FG blocks and running the ball to run the clock out.

Let me break down the first few possesions of the game..

Arkansas first play from scrimmage, 3 broken tackles - burned all my DBs for the score.

I get the ball, run 3 times for a first down - throw a ball - picked.

Arkansas runs, breaks 3 tackles again for a 20 yard gain. Throws a pass, dropped INT. Runs the ball - TD.

I get the ball - throw it - picked off.

I'm not exaggerating - I wish I had a camera to record what happened next: every pass play for the next 6 plays - I dropped user picks.. they scored on a run.

At this point, I'm laughing wishing I actually knew what the sliders were set at..

As you can tell by the final score - the game kinda went downhill from there. There were several times too, where I would cut up field and my tailback would run backwards?

when on heisman, there is games where the computer turns into some unstoppable super team where it seems like it was predetermined by the computer that it was going to kick the shit out of you

its been like that in every NCAA game EA has ever made....

Gotta love Heisman...

But there is a break in period where people realize what they use to do is not as simple anymore and it forces you to make the proper reads and do things 'right' ie making sure your feet are set and not throwing into double coverage and also making sure your passing lane is clear.

So there will be some ugly scores for people not use to playing at this level but it will get better as it will force you to get better.

just making an observation

I know its no fun to beat the hell out of the computer every game

but its also no fun when the computer breaks tackles left and right and completes every pass it throws, while your WRs drop everything that is thrown at them (this applies to INTs as well)

I agree with you to an extent (about the tackles and robo QB). I actually don't mind the dropped INTs cuz even with the drops you can still get 3-4 INTs a game. Or in buchtel's case, 100 INTs a game.

And I don't mind some WR drops cuz without them you can have a completion percentage in the 80-100% range. But then again I haven't played my game yet so of course my opinion will change as soon as I play
