NCAA Tournament, the field of 65

This battle could be the worst thing for the rest of the field...a giant like Kansas is definitely not going to get "snuck up on" the rest of the way after this one...

To hell with sneaking up on Kansas. I'd prefer to walk right up to them, punch them in the mouth and then take their girlfriend.

Assuming Kansas pulls it back together and finishes off Lehigh...

...do you think a tough battle in the first round is good for a team like Kansas, who's in a bracket with some of the best teams (or so we think) in the tournament...?

I was here in Buffalo a couple years ago when both Nova and UConn nearly lost to 16 seeds (had Nova played Albany instead of Monmouth, they would have lost. Nova played like shit that day and Albany was on fire). UConn went to the Elite 8 and Nova went to the Sweet 16.....but both had scares the entire rest of their tournament.

This has been the best day of watching games in the tournament in years.

Just in terms of close games and exciting finishes. The failure of the Big East teams is a bonus.
+1

Stopped by my bar on the way home after work, and the place was full of tourney fans on their way up the street to the arena and bunches obviously coming from... ND fans were not smiling so much.

Kind of interesting, we've had pretty much every type of upset (within reason) on day 1 (and even almost had a 15/2) EXCEPT the proverbial 12 over 5, which is always the tres chic pick (granted, there was only one game thus far, but still).

I bet M*ch*g*n fans have to appreciate the irony of their team sitting at home while "M*ch*g*n Man" Steve Fisher is coaching San Diego State in the tournament.

I know I appreciate his exemplary oversight of that program which resulted in a half a decade of basketball being wiped off the books and created the spiraling black hole that they're still trying to escape.
