NCAA Tournament, the field of 65

Bravo committee, bravo. Figures Duke would get the easiest path to Indy. I hope Purdue can find some way to get to the second weekend and smack the crap out of Duke. Beating Siena and most likely Texas A&M is a tall order without Hummel and coming off that horrific performance against Minnesota.

Whomever makes it out of that Midwest bracket will be more battle-tested than any other team... it looks like a tall order for the Bucks but I think they can beat any of those teams on a given day. Bring on the Gauchos...

I said before OK State isn't overly tall, doesn't defend the 3 well, isn't a great offensive rebounding team and doesn't force turnovers.

Well GT does have a big and deep lineup, is an excellent offensive rebounding team and defends the 3 well.

This is just from a quick glance at Ken Pomoroy's numbers, I haven't seen either team play much at all this year. Obviously neither team is a juggernaut but matchup wise I think we are better off with the other OSU.

Regardless of who wins the GT/OkState game, here is to an 8 OT thriller!! :wink2:

Agreed......with multiple ejections, resulting in suspensions.

As my last bit about the ass fuckin...err brackets before we just start focusing on our opponents let me say that I firmly believe karma is a swift and sever bitch. I also believe Duke has an open account on the ledger after this with about 95% of the sports following public sending negative karma their way.

These things being true just keep in mind L'ville has a thing for big upsets this year and Cal has a thing for raining 3's in a game like no other team in the country. Like if scUM or Iowa could shoot kind of rain.

Punchers chance, both of them. Just sayin.

How great would it be to see the Dukies get handed a bye to the Final Four and spit the bit in the first weekend?

pitt's only -11 over oakland. interesting.
looks like a freebie here. oakland was pasted by all of the good non-conference opponents they faced. sure, oakland was 17-1 in their conference, but a ton of their summit conference wins were close. one thing i always looks for when evaluating teams is the number of close wins over subpar opponents and the number of close losses to quality opponents. phil steele uses the "luck factor" when evaluating football teams in his preseason publication. there is a reason why he's the best at what he does.

Here's more interesting food for thought about how tough our region is:

Wins by Midwest Region teams against #1 seeds-

Maryland 1 (Duke)
Tennessee 2 (KU and KY)
Georgetown 2 (Duke and SYR)
OK State 1 (KU)
GT 1 (Duke)

The #1 seeds lost a combined 13 games this year. 7 of those losses came to teams in the Midwest region (1 against the East, 2 against the South, 1 against the West and 2 against non-tourney teams). Even worse for us, is that 6 of those victories came from TOSU's half of the bracket.

What's crazy for KU is that both of the teams they lost to ended up in their region, while 3 of the 4 teams that beat Duke that made the tourney also ended up in KU's region (and none of the teams Duke lost to were placed in their region).

One thing I will say about Duke (besides that I hope the entire team contracts numerous STD's from Hermaphodytic Houston Hookers) is that there is a great chance they will have to play two Texas teams in Houston in order to win their region (A&M and Baylor), which hopefully results in teary-eyed Dookies across the nation if Pitino can't get the job done first.

And as for our chances, as Ric Flair would say... TO BE THE MAN, YOU GOTTA WHOOOOOO! BEAT THE MAN! Which is exactly what we are gonna do every step of the way!

wow Duke got a boost for some reason....

Digger was right. He all but said that the committee wants Puke in the Final Four and would seed their bracket accordingly. Fuck Duke.

And how the hell are we considered the worst 2 seed. Hopefully the team will feed off the snub.
