NCAA - slowly ruining football (rules changes - merged)

I vote for shortening the commercials. 60 Min of football is 60 min no matter how you divide it. The only problem is that we get to see about 20 less plays per game. An hour out of 3 to 31/2 hours is still an hour no matter how they try to disguise it

So far, I watched alot of games Sat. and attended one in person. I like the clock changes. Things move along much smoother and the flow is better. Now, TV timeouts is another story....

I waited 8 mos to see the Bucks play and now I get approximately 25% less football.:(

Are networks going to be equitable in their TV time outs?

Did they even give it any thought?

plenty of thought    They are trying to figure out how they can split up the additional time between new commercials now that they have up to 30 more minutes of broadcast time:biggrin:

My money says this rule will last all of....one season. Next season they'll keep the overall changes, but make it so that the clock does NOT start running (on change of possession) during the last two minutes of the game (or possibly even each half).

I don't think it would even be that hard to do.. but if you were to make each commercial break 60 seconds, 1 commercial they could charge out the ass for that air time.

Now do something a little more realistic, 3 commercials in 90 seconds, then back to the game. If you can't afford a time slot sorry about your luck but ABC may even make money that way. Could you imagine how much a commercial would be in the OSU v UT game saturday night if there were 2-3 spots per break

sounds good in theory (at least to me) but yes, this running clock rule is not college football

The money drives the sport.

The NCAA just screwed this one up!

Will they let it go for a whole season?
No matter the stupidity?
Well i dont think you can (well you can, but i don't think they WILL) change a rule midseason like that without being considered a joke. The offseason is the proper place to make changes.

Money drives alot of things.. with the idea i layed out with shorter breaks allowing 2 to 3 sponsors per break, the spots would be worth much more cash and should at the very least balance out if not profit.

I think after two weeks we all can see that the college game has been
seriously screwed up by the new clock rules and need to go.

Can the NCAA really afford to let this shit go all season?

Unbelievable!:pissed: :shake: :smash:
