I guess everyone has the right to their opinion but I do not get your POV. I have always thought Pete Carrol handled the split NC with class and was not bad mouthing LSU or Choklahoma when it happened. The USC kids seem to be articulate (and we find out good with numbers :biggrin: ).
I am a little envious of the media portrayal of USC as a sun drenched sexy Hollywood school and how it gives them an upper hand with recruits. I feel like that this is the base for most peoples dislike for the USC program.
Their fan base is bandwagon but they are NOTHING like the Domers.
I am an East Coast guy so it is too bling bling West Coast for me to really embrace. But all in all USC is OK by me.

The Jarrett thing is the kind of thing that gets discovered once the digging starts. Similar to the dental work on the women's basketball team, or the $500 given to Troy Smith.

It will be interesting to observe what gets reported by the media, and how USC responds to the findings of the investigation. I've thought that USC has dealt appropriately with situations regarding their football team in the recent past. From having Will Poole leave the team after his brush with the law, to suspending Winston Justice for a full year after he flashed a replica pellet gun at another student.

I know that may of us have some resentment of the USC football program within us; based on things like past Rose Bowls or the perceived media lovefest of the past couple of years.

But as Buckeye fans, we more than anyone should be aware of how miserable life can be when a football program comes under the microscope.

Let's remember how classy USC posters like methomps and wstripes acted when our beloved tOSU was getting hammered. And let's think about what we want to say before posting something about USC, now that it appears to be their 'turn in the barrel'.

First, the Heisman has been revoked before. Second, the Heisman committee is currently in process of there own investigation.

I dont agree that no one knows who paid rent. If the Bush's have a cancled deposit check and cancled rent checks then what possible reason would they have for not producing copies of them when these allegations surfaced? This issue in no way would have impaired Reggies draft status nor would it have in any way hampered or injured any possible future litigation that the Bush family might choose to pursue.

It my personal opinion that the Bush's lived there rent free. If true (and this is very, very simple to disprove, proved copies of cancled rent payments.) Bush was ineligible. If ineligible then games will be forfeited and potentially the heisman as well.

It seems logical that the athletic department would want to keep very close tabs on where the players (and their families) live, what their rent is, and how they're paying it. Of course, that would have been a good thing to know regarding a certain asswad named Savovic, as well.... I guess that means that no matter how well-intentioned you may be, your players can still screw you if someone out in the community gets in their ear.

Agreed, the Jarrett thing should be nothing, but one can never tell with the NCAA. As far as Bush and family, I'm just trying to remind myself that we are only hearing one side of the story, and that lawyers and wannabe sports agents are certainly not bound by such mundane things as the truth.

Oh, and methomps, we feel your pain, buddy.

Please educate me on this - it's news to me.

Here's a quote form last week that seems to disagree with your statement.

I don't think the DJ thing is minor or stupid. Yes, it seems reasonable because when you think that ML's dad would do the same for any of his son's friends. But...this is the world of the NCAA (and a billion dollar business) and this could easily lead to improper benefit. No doubt, a team would simply have rich walk-ons each year share a penthouse with economically disadvantaged kids. Why stop there...have Matt's dad buy him two Porsches and loan one to his roommate?

Do you honestly think that the USC, or any university for that matter could convince rich player's parents to pony up for the 'disadvantaged' ones? If I'm not mistaken , Jarrett and Leinart have been roommates since DJ's freshman year. IMO a non-issue, but we'll see.
