NCAA punishes USC - Reggie Bush, OJ Mayo, Dwayne Jarrett, Joe McKnight investigation

Vince Young: "I definitely want it, I definitely want it,'' said Young, who guided Texas to the national championship. "But he won it fair and square definitely, and it's much respect to Reggie, man. He had a great career and he's already won a Super Bowl before me. I'm already mad about that.
"But at the same time I am definitely happy for him, man, and he is definitely the Heisman Trophy winner for that year. But if they send it over to me I am not going to say no to it," Young said.

If he had won it "fair and square" he wouldn't be returning it now would he?

so now VY is changing his story some now that Reggie is going to give up the trophy. What a douche bag.

VY's quote was from before Bush's forfeiting of the Trophy, although he knew at the time there was a decent chance that Bush might lose it one way or another.

Interesting opinions on SportCenter regarding the topic. Desmond said that since Reggie did NOT use PEDs to gain a physical advantage, then VY doesn't deserve to get it. Herbie said that since VY beat USC in the bowl after the Heisman ceremony, he'd be OK with VY getting it. That seems silly - if Texas had defeated somebody else in the title game with VY getting 467 yards of offense, then he wouldn't deserve it?

I believe they'll leave it vacated as a lesson for the future.

"It is my hope that this situation serves as a teachable moment to all involved, especially for the young athletes and university and high school administrators of tomorrow," Carroll said in a statement.

Forgot to mention that the college and high school coaches of tomorrow might learn from this, too. But, then again, he's got a big game this week against Denver, so it might have slipped his mind.

Tebow: Hey Reggie. Who you voting for this year for the Heisman??...Oops, my bad man!!

Bush: I hit every Kardashian orifice that exists, and some that didn't!

Tebow: I'm not following.....

I'm sure Mack Brown and Texas reminded Vince that the Heisman folks give two awards, one to the man, and one to the school. You think maybe the boys down at Tejas might like to show off another Heisman?

I think the Heisman Trust should return it. After a small modification.

Indeed. Mack stated several days ago that he thought that VY should get the award if they took it away from Reggie.
