NCAA punishes USC - Reggie Bush, OJ Mayo, Dwayne Jarrett, Joe McKnight investigation

Just wanted to let everyone know, if the requirements of winning the Heisman trophy now no longer include actually being eligible to play, I hereby claim the 1994-1997 Heisman trophies as my own. All of them. I was robbed!

I believe you might want to talk to a certain individual at Eddie George's Grille 27 about the 1995 award. I'm sure he would gladly hand that over to you. :wink2:

Other than that, we would have the most Heisman trophy winners now. WOO HOO!!!
:oh:

Isn't the Heisman becoming more and more Irrelevant. It's supposed to be for the most outstanding college football player, yet no solely defensive player has ever won the award. They should make it like the Remington award - The best offensive skill position player. Trying to say its the best player overall is a joke. Rarely has the best overall football player ever won the award.

There's a regular monthly meeting of the Heisman trustees tonight. They may have been ready to vote on vacating the 2005 Heisman, which would have required a 'super-majority' of 6 of the 8 voters to rescind the Trophy. Reggie may have received indications that the vote wasn't going to go his way.

But they could have waited another month or two, until the USC appeal was complete, before voting. Even though USC wasn't defending Bush in their appeal, some voters may have wanted to wait until the NCAA process with USC was complete.
