I'm not sure if this should be ignored because it's twitter, or posted because it's Bruce Feldman (or ignored because it's Bruce Feldman), but here's his latest post: USC has been hit with a two-year post-season ban in addition to the loss of scholarships, among other penalties from the NCAA.

The twitter rule is to keep the gossipy stuff about recruits and players from getting out of hand, prevent us from inadvertently directing people to kids' accounts, and avoid issues with fake accounts or angry parents. Not an issue for a media source.

So... will USC get their unofficial NCs for the next two years now, or do they have to wait for the end of each season? :p

Beat me to it. I hope I hope I hope I hope this is true...

Please say football please say football please say football please say football.

Oh, and make them vacate wins. I'll learn to use photoshop in order to update this:

"Shouldn't dynasties win at least one?" or "Shouldn't dynasties win one within the rules"?

Or, maybe something along these lines-

Source: Two-year postseason ban for USC football - ESPN Los Angeles

The USC football program will receive two-year postseason ban, a reduction in scholarships and a forfeiture of wins from at least the 2004 season when the NCAA releases it sanctions on Thursday, a source told ESPN's Shelley Smith.

ESPN the Magazine's Bruce Feldman confirmed the two-year postseason ban and a reduction in scholarships from a second USC source.

USC will respond Thursday to the NCAA's findings following its investigation into possible violations by the Trojans' football and men's basketball programs, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told ESPN's Joe Schad.

The blurb on ESPNews is saying that USC will get schollie reductions, and a 2-year postseason ban, and will forfeit victories from at least part of the 2004 season.

There's a significant difference between forfeiting and vacating wins, which is what they've done in most cases lately (like FSU's).

If they forfeit games in 2004/05 that Bush played in, would Oklahoma officially get a win in the 19-55 curb-stomping in the Orange Bowl/BCS Title game?

I think it will be vacating wins (where the opponent is not credited with a win), and that ESPN got it wrong.

edit - they've now updated their scroll to show 'vacated' rather than forfeited
