NCAA Investigation into Indiana Basketball Program

After looking at other Es in the pdf, it could be an E or an F also....but the scribbles are too long to cover up Eric Gordon.

I believe it is Eric Gordon Jr if that makes a differance. Just cant think of any other player that they would possibly cover up now.

Thats logical, but if you look at the letters and spaces above it and below it (assuming that its the same font size and the scribble covers only letters and only a little space at the end), I think that the name could be longer. Just my Encyclopedia Brown theory based on very little evidence and expertise :)

I wonder who the Indiana fans blame for this situation? Is it the IU administration and President who hired Sampson or is it Sampson himself? I mean most basketball people knew what type of coach he was at the time they hired him. Can you really blame him for doing things the way he has always done them when a school is willing to pay you over a million a year?

IU sold out to win at all costs.......the cost will be very steep.

Sadly, I don't think it will even take a year, if he gets axed, he will be hired somewhere for next season.
I don't think he will get hired very soon by a college. It will be very similar to O'Brien and the fact that he has done this at two colleges will make it even worse. Also, whoever does hire him will have to go to the NCAA first and probably show "cause".

I would guess the blacked out name is still in high school and they do not want to affect his status as a recruit.
There are other names in that document where the player is still in high school such as Buford and a couple others. I don't see how this would affect the status of someone he might be recruiting since Sampson won't be at IU next year.

Doesn't fit with the phrase "then prospective student athlete"

i think that document still has the same blackouts...
True, I also noticed the following - it isn't just one name. There are at least two name lengths redacted. Going with BN27 on the first that it is a "B" making possible Brandon McGee as the contacted prospect - now a student, hence "then prospective student athlete." Could one of the shorter ones be Gordon and only using his last name?

On the IU Scout Board - one redeeming feature .

Poll now up - will Sampson get fired?

Yes - Today - 16 votes
Yes - Before Season is Over - 23
Yes - After Season is Over - 45
No - 10

That's 83:10 figuring Sampson as gone one way or another.
