NCAA Football 12 + Rosters

Just tore it up with Bolden from Purdue... 243 yards against Mississippi State including a 12 yard TD with 1:00 left in the game. Of course in Purdue-esque form on the next drive Mississippi throws a curl route for 5 yards and their receiver breaks 4 tackles to go 80 yards for the game winning touchdown.
Lol reminded me of something a Big Ten team would do in a bowl game. Oh well.

I made new Xbox rosters for Ohio State using the 8/11/11 OS Communinty Update. They are making the rosters very realistic and alot of ratings for ALL players on ALL teams have been lowered (mostly bc they fixed speed ratings for each team). Because of this, dont be worried about some players on our team being lower than expected/usual...

Refer to the first 2 posts in this thread for info!!!

Enjoy

These superhuman LB's are [censored]ing me off to no end.

Yeah, that is the thing that drives me crazy. The guy I was playing was bringing five and had a LB spy my QB. I knew I had straight up man, and saw my slot guy had the inside shoulder of the DB, so I threw it to him. The dude was like 15 yards down field, and the LB who was spying my QB picked it off like 2 yards from the line of scrimmage.

Also, had a play when I was throwing a slant, and it just hit my guy and bounced off. I'm semi-okay with the "you didn't throw it at the right point in the route so he wasn't looking" thing where it just bounces off your dudes' back, but I thought it to the slant right across the middle of the field and it bounced off of his shoulder.

Anyway, I've found an offense I love to use for OSU:

I exclusively use a formation that has 3 WR, QB under center, 1 RB and the TE split out into the slot. If they have 5 or fewer guys in the box, I just audible to a run. Aside from that, I run 4 verticals, a play with the TE crossing over the middle, and a spacing play where the RB empties out of the backfield. I've had a lot of success keeping people off balance with that. They have a hard time figuring out if they should play the run or the pass... Berry gets 5+ easy yards almost any time I run on five defenders in the box, and sometimes he breaks it for 15+. Forcing six defenders to stay in the box opens up the passing game nicely.

First dynasty season in the books...undefeated with a win over UM in the Big 10 championship game and an NC win over Texas A&M. Had to come from behind to beat Miami, Wisconsin and A&M. Beat A&M with Rod Smith doing most of the damage...lost Boom early in the game and lost Berry for two quarters shortly thereafter. It was also the first game where I actively looked to get Miller outside the pocket and took off for a couple of key third down conversions.

Berry averaged nearly 9 yards a carry for me in a back-up role. Should have a big year with him in 2012.

Only got something like 16 verbals. I think 10 4-stars and 6 3-stars. Finished with the #3 ranked class. USC had 1 5-star and was ahead of me at #2. Alabama pulled in something like 10 5-stars. Seems like the average class size for everyone was around 15-17. This was my first time doing recruiting since the 2007 version so I will apply some of your advice next season.

Herron lost the Heisman on the last week of the season to Case Keenum. Won the Walter Camp and Doak Walker. I mainly controlled Simon and Williams throughout the season and as such Adam Bellamy won the Bednarik award with something like 14 sacks. Dionte Allen was runner-up for the Thorpe with 6 picks and 4 sacks.

Bellamy left early. Guiton (who I used mainly as Miller's back-up) and Graham transferred. I only recruited one 4-star pocket passer which leaves me with 2 QBs on the roster...Miller and the recruit (might make him into Cardale Jones).

That's about all I can remember off the top of my head. I played on All-American so I may have to bump up the difficulty in year 2.

Nevermind the superhuman LB - its human users taking mediocre DT's and making them into Nndamakung fucking Suh that pisses me off. I'm sorry, but there isn't a lineman on Oregon's roster that's going to just toss aside Brewster. More specifically against only a 3 man front. I should have time to throw.

Yes I lost 2 games last night. Yes I'm pissed.

What was he doing? Jumping the snap? Using an analog stick move?

I wasn't quite paying attention - usually my eyes are downfield; I move quite well in the pocket but if I had to venture a guess it was the analog move.

If he was jumping the snap that much I would have drawn him offsides a few times and shut that down. This was totally different. Oregon too none-the-less. Their defense (outside of what was Cliff Harris) is pretty much garbage.

Could you run the ball at him at all? I usually opt to control DTs and DEs when I play (because I suck at everything else) and it's true that the analog stick moves are much more effective this year. However, when I use those moves I'm committing the player hard in one direction or another which usually leaves a hole to run thru. At that point if somebody starts running on me I either have to back down and keep my guy at home, or guess correctly with the direction of my move. I would think that a variety of runs between the tackles out of passing formations would gash that kind of defense.
