NCAA Football 12 + Rosters

IronBuckI;1954546; said:
Just got my copy a couple days ahead of Amazon's estimated arrival. Olaf, do you have a downloadable roster with your Buckeye changes?

I won't be home until Sunday afternoon. I'll do all that then. If, by some grace of God, I can get my PS3 online and keep it online for more than a minute while here at the in-laws, I'll get it done sooner.

Just FYI, Block-O over at Operation Sports is still on track to release complete rosters (PS3) sometime tomorrow. I believe earlier today he was at 100 teams.

His rosters are usually excellent, although I'm not completely sure he is doing attribute changes. Regardless, he definitely does player/coach names, equipment etc.

Twitter: (He updates this, easiest way to find the latest info) @nickfa83

NOTE: He does "minor" attribute changes. Whatever that means.

I used Buckeye02's two years ago and was really disappointed. Hell, he screwed up Ohio State's roster something fierce. He even changed the things EA got right like Mike Adams switching from 74 to 75. Buckeye moved him back to 74. He also turned Guiton into Siems, changing his skin color and everything. As for the rest of the teams, he had a ton of typos and misspellings. I spent a lot of time cleaning it up.

I used gamingtailgate's last year and was happy with it. I never looked at buckeye02's. I'll give buckeye02's a look this year.

Jesus, they made the COU DBs otherworldly good. They jump everything except pump fakes, they catch everything, their midget safeties can out jump the height advantage of Jake Stoneburner, and they still warp so if they happen to be in man coverage with inside leverage and my WR is running an out pattern they still get ahead of the receiver and make a pick.

I've been in Practice mode all night against Penn State's defense. First of all, the Nits have a friend at EA, because their collective attributes are thoroughly overrated. I set it to have them do random Dime defenses and practiced random plays out of Shotgun formations. i've noticed the handoffs in zone coverage that they advertised int the game but get this - defenders are doing the handoffs with their BACKS TURNED TO THE RECEIVER THEY ARE COVERNG. I have no idea how a LB can follow (or even predict in some cases) a receiver's path when their back is turned and they can't see what they're defending.

WR AI is lacking. CPU DBs are complete ballhawks, meanwhile receivers NEVER play the ball in the air or come back and try to high point it. To complete a pass it seems you must have the following:
  • A wide open receiver - no defender within at least ten yards.
  • Throw the ball and hit the receiver's pattern. Since the receivers are on rails, they will not go after a ball that is not on their pre-determined line.
  • Hope a catch animation plays.
  • Flip a coin ands hope it doesn't get jarred loose.

One more complaint: If they're going to make zone defenses so powerful and make it some the CPU runs it more than 80% of the time, then there needs to be more options or AI to get receivers to stop their routes and sit in holes in the zone. It would make for a more realistic simulation of the game, rather than having open players intentionally running themselves out of open positions constantly.

My (as well as N. Olivers) rosters are ready.....lol

The linebacker depth chart is pretty tricky due to Moeller being the 'star', but just rotate them based on how YOU want them. Everything else is cool.

The rosters are "OSU Player" approved lol

I agree.... BUT that has forced me to play a smarter game. And it makes winning every game with a powerhouse more of a challenge and less of a guarantee...

I dont have the bread and butter Curls where the DB bails 10 yards downfield anymore. I don't have the sideline ALL DAY against cover 2 (you gotta get that ball there QUICKLY before the safety gets there.)
I am not guaranteed to gouge the D with every power I run.

Another fun aspect is how players will slip and fall more, I have also noticed receivers blowing routes.

One issue I do have is that through three games with OSU (AKRON, TOLEDO, MIAMI) Simon has 9.5 sacks. I have not user controlled him once. I know that dude is a stud, but averaging over 3 sacks a game is a bit much.

I love this game!

catch22 = Named rosters by FairdaleKings

This roster should be used for online play. It has zero edits other than names, meaning Pryor is still in the game. You cannot use an edited roster (ratings) for online play, it will revert to QB#2, WR#8, etc.

...

I'm not recommending the operation sports community rosters, because I dislike a few changes they made to OSU. I'm working on my own changed/re-rated roster based on the above, I'll post it when I'm done.

Equipment, height, hometown, eligibility, number (w/ a few unavoidable exceptions, not including Howard ) will all be corrected for OSU.

Rod is listed by OSU at 230 :yow1: To think he's probably going to end up being the smaller Smith brother :banger:

Thanks for sharing your set.

There are a number of folks making OSU rosters for both consoles as is regularly discussed here.

We don't allow email addresses in the ticket forum either, so soliciting paypal donations is not going to happen. They know how to contact you if they really feel compelled to do so.

I just edited your 'rosters are ready' post to include that long list quoted inside it.

Thanks for all of the feedback and suggestions.

Looks fairly good, my question is whether Hale should be bumped by Baldwin.

Like I said, there are many people undertaking similar projects, making authentic OSU rosters, making roster suggestions, so I merged your discussion with the rest. Hopefully the above edits help clarify things for folks looking to download them.

I can add links on the first page of this thread to each roster set released. I'll post yours there now.
