NCAA Football 12 + Rosters

The problem from 2 years ago was that run commit was Tecmo Bowl. You couldn't (very rare) burn the D if they guessed wrong. If you ran a PA, they sacked the QB before you had a chance. It was far too strong. Last year was fine, because the D basically just attempted to cheat but no real advantage was gained except in perfect scenarios.

I'm not going to ban it unless it really is as bad as it was two years ago. If it's only slightly stronger than last year, that's no big deal.

Is anybody here trying a coach-only dynasty? I've been interested in this since the coaching carousel features were announced - I want to play in a way that isolates playcalling & recruiting strategies rather than being able to control the players themselves.

I "coached" a game yesterday and liked it. I have created Wright State in TeamBuilder and want to put them in the MAC for a coach-only dynasty where I'd start there as a coordinator and try to work my way up without controlling any players.

I just wanted to see if anybody was considering doing something similar.

The biggest issue I have with the run commit is the CB's ability to recover.

Played against a kid who was using Miami and he used this same thing on me. Nobody got open down field on a Go. All he had was one deep safety.

I know I haven't magically gotten worse at this game. All it needed was a few minor tweaks, but the complete overhaul has been a sham thus far unless you play like a total bitch.

When you edit the name of a scrambling qb it changes them to balanced and editing a balanced qb changes them to scrambling. I noticed when i downloaded a roster with names that Denard Robinson was shown as a balanced qb so i went back to the default roster and he was back to a scrambler. So i played a game with the named roster and he attempted zero scrambles. I then played a game with the default roster and he scrambled five times in the first two drives. Anyone else seeing this? I'm on PS3
Yea, Denard Robinson is balanced on buckeye and gator's. Don't know if they touched his ratings, but his acc. is a 99 so he's got the abilities of a scrambler still it seems. If you go to edit player, it even marks tendency as a scrambler. But when you leave, it says balanced. Pretty sure he's still going to run. Something else to test I guess.
I noticed it also effected the Kick off and punt returns for the CPU. And effected the punt blocking the user. With no names, I was able to return punts back for a TD sometimes with a good enough returner.

With names, the gunners get down the field super fast like they did in NCAA 11.

With out names, the CPU was able to return punts and kick offs back for TDs on me. With names, their blocking is non existent and the cpu have a hard time making it to the 30 yard line on kick offs and on Punt returns they get 3 yards now, my gunners get down the field so fast now I be right on top of them as soon as they catch the ball.

So as it stands, no names seem to give the better game play.
This issue seems to be like the freezing issue. It is effecting some people and not effecting others. With named rosters, denard Robinson don't scramble against me using Fairdale Kings roster or OS community rosters.

Default rosters with no names, he will scramble 12 to 20 times.

So for those it doesn't effect, consider yourself lucky. By chance BA2929 did your console ever freeze with this game ?

You can't use changed rosters online, which is what Brutus' are. He took mine, which was the FKing roster file overhauled for OSU.

For named rosters, download rosters from catch22 which is the FairdaleKings roster file.

Those have zero player changes, so you can use them online. Guys like Pryor are still in. Other rosters like mine, Brutus', bucksfan2, etc have changed ratings to make the rosters more realistic and useful.

you can't use them for xbox live matchups, because users need to have the same roster file.

you can use them for offline & online dynasties because everyone in there will have the same roster file.
