I have not played much dynasty yet. Does the roster glitch happen without ceasing? Or if you save regularly enough, can you just get up and restart your frozen console and likely re-do that week without a hiccup? (fingers crossed)
I've played with PP's rosters, having only edited OSU's players. I haven't experienced any roster or game issues. It wasn't until I read here and in other forums that any such issues actually exist.

I finished season 1, but now want to start over with a better edited OSU team. I figure doing so will not impact me at all since it didn't before, and I'm not editing any players on any other teams.

So if you want to only edit a single team, then you should be fine. If you (or anyone) want to use PP's default roster file without any further edits, you can get it from EA Locker (gamertag: Millikin). I put it up for my brothers when I found out he took them down. Downloading them and only changing players on 1 or 2 teams should be fine.

So until it's fixed, I should hedge my bets by only editing OSU, while saving the other edits for the fix?
If you edit offline you'll have no trouble... I disconnected my 360 from the internet while I edited the roster and I haven't had any problems. Likewise, once I left it connected while I was editing and it froze.

I'm 5 games in so far and as long as your offline when making edits it doesn't matter how many you do. I've edited tOSU's entire roster as well as most of the nation.

 Very helpful tip. I'd prefer to start making the changes ahead of time since they will be exhaustive, and this looks like a way to do it.

Cheerio!

I've been playing out the 2008 season on my dynasty on heisman level with the CPU AI sliders turned up to 55% across the board.

I had some trouble with USC in the first quarter but beat ended up beating them fairly handily. Same goes for Wisconsin.

However, I have been stuck on the Purdue game. I, for the life of me, can't get the Purdue offense off of the field. If I blitz from any position, Curtis Painter completes the pass before I can get the sack. If I play a zone, Painter hits the dig route over the middle every time. It's crazy but Purdue is by far the most difficult team I have played in the NCAA 2009 game.

Has anyone else come across this much difficulty playing Purdue.

You do know that the CPU AI sliders don't do anything? The HUM AI sliders work for both CPU and HUM. Just a heads up.

How should I handle Mallett's eligibility? He's listed as a Redshirt Frosh. He should be a sophomore, who gets redshirted this year. But the computer may not redshirt him, so I think it would be best to place him as a frosh. Casey Dick is the senior QB, so hopefully he stays healthy. Otherwise we might have Mallett up for the heisman during his year off

I suggest giving him the Bobby Petrino treatment and shipping him off somewhere else.

What's the vote on getting this game for PS2? Waste of time or true upgrade?

Well, I bought this the first day it came out, I love the game. But, there could always be improvements. I'm playing in Legend mode, and you can't play when your player isn't on the field. So with that being said, I don't like the fact that when the opposing team is on offense, the time doesn't move. What I mean is, lets say you ended a drive with a punt. The opposing team gets the ball, (and from my experience) usually gets a 3 and out and the only time that came off the game clock is 30 seconds.

Even in the huddle, you can't run the time down. After a play, the field clock resets at 45 seconds, then when you get to chose the play, its automatically at 25 seconds and the game clock never starts. Not even after a run play that stays inbounds. It really [censored]es me off about the opposing team though, I can't believe after a full drive that only 30 seconds come off the clock.

Anyway, I do enjoy the game though, I think it's more "realistic" than previous titles.

By the way, my in Legend mode I played for Norwood High out of Cincy, tore up the playoffs, then Ohio State gave me a scholarship....to play 4th string. Fu ck that! I went to Athens instead to start for the Bobcats! As fate would have it, second drive of the Ohio-tOSU game, I get injured and we get beat 80-12.

Awsome.

Karma sucks. I also go offered a scholarship at OSU at MLB and took it as 4th string. I was starting 1/2 through the season. Ended up with 100 tackles and 10 INTS. Soph. year and I'm through 3 games with 36 tackles and 2 picks. Gonna be another good year!!

Well, I'm stuck with only a PSP over here, so I ordered the PSP version to keep me entertained til I got back. Got it yesterday, played 3 games and realize that it was a total waste of money. It's fucking horrible. Passing is impossible on any difficulty level no matter how you tweak the A.I. because there is zero pass blocking and you fumble at least 7-8 times a game even when you don't overuse the stiff arm button. Of course, if you don't use the stiff arm function, you just get hit for a loss on every carry because the DL regularly plows through the offensive line. Beanie couldn't average more than 2 ypc against fucking YSU or OU and had 16 carries for 17 yards against USC (15 of them being on a freak TD run). Fucking sucks...total waste of money. :smash:

Not sure if this still works, but in past games you could edit depth charts of all the teams before entering dynasty. If you want him to sit out that first year. Leave him as a RS Frosh, but make him the 4th string QB, i.e. off of the depth chart. The CPU never modifies the depth chart for the first year. Mallet will never see the field...even if all three players ahead of him get injured.

I had the same problem with Purdue. They were by far the toughest team I played in the 2008-09 year. I beat them by 10, but the score doesn't really tell how close the game was. They quickly jumped out to a 14-3 lead after 1 and I had to really play efficiently to come back. Painter is a monster.

Much to my dismay, there are no custom playbooks in NCAA 2009 again.

I found a good playbook to compliment Terelle Pryor if you are going to use him as a starter or have already progressed into the 2009 season. Check out BYU's playbook. They have a good mix of shotgun spread formations and enough I-Form and weak 2-back formations to mix in some Big Ten smashmouth football. Check it out.
